Would you recommend Koudelka then? I've never considered it, but enjoyed by SH1 and 2
It's short, dark, moody, macabre, and has a lot of atmospheric and historic charm. Multiple endings, and it has one of the most boldly hilarious "bad" endings I have ever seen, so rarely am I truly shocked into surprise by something lol. The cutscenes were pretty spectacular for its time. It's fun to see tie ins to Shadow Hearts. The composer for most of the Mana series, Hiroki Kikuta, is the writer, director, producer, and composer of Koudelka, and the founding President/CEO of Sacnoth/Nautilus which made all the Shadow Hearts games. I feel like he was really trying to do something new artistically even though their ambitions got cut short. The battle system might be a bit mediocre and slow to some, I think the one part of the game Kikuta didn't direct unfortunately, but it didn't deter me personally, I like listening to the music, and it's not terribly stressful battles so you can kind of tune out in between the exploratory puzzle solving. I feel like it's really unique from any other RPG, and I like stuff that tries to actually do something novel, so a personal cult classic sort of favorite. I like it a lot!

Almost sounds like might be worth watching a lets play on youtube, though slow battle speeds isnt too bad as with emulators it is possible to speed up, 16.5 hrs is the completionest run according to how long to beat, so yeah short!

Gives off GC or Wii vibes. At first I thought it was one of those Mario Sunshine levels without FLUDD but then looked at the UI, no idea
I'll give a hint: it's a Wii game, but it was also on PS2. IMO it has the best motion controls out of any Wii game, except for maybe Boom Blox Bash Party and Red Steel 2 -- but both of these used Motion+.

It's also incredibly underrated and is one of my favorite Wii games.
