It's not just you, you've basically encapsulated how I've felt about all of those releases. The last games that were released that truly caught my attention as something I wanted to check out was Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky. Neither are part of big franchises or sequels to other games, and it's rare for a game like that to catch my attention. Partly because I don't follow releases like I used to, but, also because nothing really stands out among the crowd to me.
echoing this statement a lot of AAA fames these days just don’t interest me anymore and I’ve kind of been drawn more to AA/ indie games recently like one of my favorite studios over recent years is devolver digital games. they just make fun games even if a lot of it is nonsense but they don’t miss in my opinion

I also dont follow gaming news like I used to. I can remember before KOTOR came out and I was on ign and all the other sites every day looking for info, to now unless its a franchise it doesnt stick in my mind and even if it does catch my eye, I dont research anything about it.

I had no idea about Clair Obscur until a week or two before it came out as I saw someone mention it and Oblivion coming out around the same time and now Im playing it and loving it. Im sure I saw posts about it on reddit or what ever, but since it was a new IP it didnt stick in my mind. Hell, I dont think I knew of Avowed until not long before it came out and that is a bigger studio

I used to look up a lot of gaming news too, but I quit that a while back. I don't get hyped for games anymore. I remember the letdowns that were Metroid: Other M and Oblivion and Spore, and I think I stopped getting hype about games around that time. I didn't even know Skyrim came out until my friend showed it to me (I ended up loving it). Games come out and they'll either be good or not, and there's no point in me getting my hopes up for a game that ends up being shit. I also don't like spoiling myself -- I like to keep as much of the game fresh as possible.

I don't really see myself really looking much into other games coming out soon -- excluding maybe Okami 2 and Elder Scrolls VI.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of AAA devs tend to take the lazy way out and just copy + paste a formula over and over hoping no one notices or cares enough. Just re-skin last year's bullshit and move on. Looking at you, Call of Doody.

Yeah, for real, I had heard absolutely nothing about Clair Obscur and then what felt like overnight I started seeing posts here about it and getting messages from my friends about it. My neighbor just name-dropped it last night. That doesn't sound like your typical indie game to me.

I stopped looking games up when the economy tanked here and I became extremely busy with work. It was hard to find time to game when I was working 12-14 hours a day for 6 days a week. By the time I had freedom to look up that kind of stuff and actually engage in a game, the gaming news circuit was totally inundated with clickbait bullshit and more speculation than I remember from the GTA: SA days.

TBF, the last time they tried to add something new [to Call of Duty] people complained.

Call of Duty added spaceship battles and people complained that it wasn't a WWII game.

My gaming hot take is that criticism of Call of Duty being lazy and cut-paste is often much lazier and cut-paste than the games themselves.

Some of the recent campaigns have been top-tier, and all of them have been at least good (except the most recent MW3, although that was obviously a DLC pack that was disfigured into a full price title). The multiplayer is definitely more similar year on year, but as Fool's says that it what consumers are clearly demanding. As much as I don't play multiplayer games as much these days I still think CoD is one of my favourite multiplayer titles.

People are always gonna complain. Criticism is what improves games when the developer takes the criticism seriously. I know a lot of people that loved the CoD games, and they spent a lot of money on those games over the years. Eventually, they all had the same complaint people have about yearly Madden and The Show games.

The recent campaigns. They caught enough flak to put forth some effort, recently. However, for years, they were doing nothing but taking the lazy way out and taking those millions to the bank, so, my lazy copy + paste insult is the best they're getting for free.

or even something like assassins creed even if i don’t play those games they still are all the same. especially when they were coming out yearly. and these devs are more concerned with making money and putting in battle passes, and being a live service game than being a good game. now there are times where a major game will interest me even if it does have those things but that seems like a rarity now

I was hoping for more than cinematics, but I know that's just how Rockstar is until a few months away from release. It looks really, really good. Slightly disappointed the internet will goon over the sex part of the trailer up until release, but now we know 100% sex/love is more of a theme in this GTA compared to past versions. I didn't think it was going to be Bonnie & Clyde 2.0, but it's looking like that's definitely what's coming.
people are speculating that Rockstar delayed gta VI so that it could come out on pc at the same time as console
I speculate it will not come out for PC until 2027.

Came across this post on Reddit, so take this with a grain of salt:

I enjoyed the new video, even though it didn't have game play footage, it has me more excited for next year's release.

According to multiple reports, trailer 2 has nearly a 50/50 balance between gameplay and cut scene footage in it... Apparently it was a conscious move to show that there are seamless transitions and minimal differences between what you see in-game and during the cut scenes.

As far as the post you shared... I'd absolutely believe that. Considering we're looking at a game that has cost more to develop than major construction projects in the real world, I'm not surprised that they're locking in on the online mode to make it as profitable as possible, especially considering the revenue GTA Online still generates this far post-release.

That's a really interesting post. I'm not surprised by it though. I feel like RDR2 Online might be the better example. Although people play it, I don't think it would be considered a success at all. They probably want to make sure they don't repeat that situation either.

Unfortunately, Jason Schreier (video game industry journalist/insider) confirmed that the reddit post was nonsense. However, I'd still reasonably believe that the delay is based around the online aspect of the game and not the single player aspect. Bethesda took a year to polish Starfield and it was still trash, but GTA6 would likely use that metric as a minimum for polish. All the beauacratic stuff in that reddit post is contradictory, but the stuff that mentions server reliability would make a lot of sense, even if it's not true.

Schreier, who reported the RDR2 crunch issues, has said that Rockstar has done a much better job with crunch this time around. He obviously has the contacts within Rockstar and has been saying for months that it will slip into 2026.

Maybe the server things have some truth to them, but really I think it's just wishful thinking from someone who is obviously one of those people who dislikes the online mode, and I say that as a story guy myself.

Most of the polish phase of game development - visual optimisation, controls, bug fixes, maybe the odd content change/improvement - that stuff is going to benefit both modes.

Not a surprise that GTA graphics are the same in cutscenes and in-game. But considering how good everything looks, it's still remarkable.

Absolutely, we're in for the same kind of visual surprise that we got with RDR2 after GTAV, if not more now than before.

I was about to comment might be on max settings with best hardware, but then remembered this is only on console right now

According to Rockstar, it was footage from a base PS5. I'm not sure what that means for PS5 Pro players, if there will be an optimized release or if they'll have to wait.
