On a related note. Say Benzine isn't a wolf and Vash wasn't the Halfing, and TD has been playing the "pretend to be Seer and see how long I last" game and then he gets lynched in tomorrow's day phase. He will have effectively helped his remaining wolf teammates whittle down the townies to 7 by the next day phase with absolutely no information as to who remains.

The real seer could always come forward then. Your counter argument will be ”that puts a target on their back for the wolves”, but that doesn’t mean anything if the alternative is the wolves run the narrative with a fake claim and the real seer stays useless all game.
