Anyway, I must point out that whatever this TD vs Tubby thing even is, it's actually fine to shelve it for now. There are two other wolves out there.

Filling Tubby in as Vanilla Townie drops the suspect pool down to 5. As low as 3 pending the actual identity of the final Poly, who need not reveal themselves.

Start pointing fingers at people other than TD so we can make forward momentum. If someone challenges TD's claim, we'll adjust. Worst case scenario it's a 1:1 exchange for a wolf (2 left) and the Alchemist is in play somewhere (1-ish left). Let's work to make that 0.

Tubby DM'd me through the kerfuffle yesterday asking me what can I share so a couple people can switch. Heavily implying that he is poly.

I told him I knew he was a townie. He practically begged me to tell everyone he was a townie, when I said I have to mention halfling he got more cautious.

Fast forward to later cause I don't actually trust his ass but I tell him I do, I tell him Warp is the doctor and is protecting me (sorry Warp) as bait.

I tell him I'm going to seer check Alu, I then message him later and tell him I switched to Kat. Oh look, both are dead.

He has asked if I have been DMing Warp, I said yes (and I haven't been).

I message him back calling him the halfling and he's since sent maybe 7 messages that I haven't responded to. Spiraling from which random wolf do I know, to saying we are clearing eachother, to then calling me a wolf.

Best case scenario: Halfling
Worst case scenario: Generic townie who looks guilty and is caught up in an awfully convenient coincidence

I didn't change my joke vote because I didn't feel I needed to hop on the TD bandwagon. It seemed to me that the town had decided and I felt that FQ was going to be coming along at any moment to close that day out with TD being lynched. I had a work function and wasn't staring at my phone the whole time. I look away for a couple hours and all of a sudden the game is over and Jawneh is lynched and he was just a plain ol' townie.

And guess who was the first person to vote Jawneh before switching their vote to themselves...

I personally think it's much more likely that he was a Halfling pulling a suicide bomb trying to protect either the Alpha or the Wolfscryer to let them do more damage until his body is revealed to be that of a wolf.

I follow your logic and I'm inclined to agree with a lot of what you said, however it doesn't make much sense to sacrifice the halfling unless they think they can get us to kill the alchemist on a day cycle. If there are only two wolves left, one will be taken by the alchemist and the other will probably be taken by the group. It wouldn't make sense as a play, but then, this game is fucking weird. Jawneh sacrificing themselves was probably the dumbest move I could possibly imagine, one way or another.

- Day 1, claims the doctor is handsome
- Day 2, I get into my very public spat with Alu going back and forth, he hints that he is the doctor and suspects Benzine
- Why would Alu be so convinced by no target? Because he didn't protect anyone successfully
- Why would he suspect Benzine? Well duh, he didn't protect Benzine and he hinted it
- After this is when Alu and I dropped it and moved on
- Vash wants to pour gas on me (makes sense, he did last time) and Benzine, which is an incredibly uncharacteristic choice, and knowing the attention is going to be on me
- Benzine tosses a throwaway vote for Vash, a stupid common wolf ally tactic so it can be reflected on later as a defense when it means nothing

Sure, that's fair and reasonable. I'm not sure the timing quite works out, and killing TD now after a day with no further evidence is suspect, but... sure.

Assuming I was a total not-dumdum, then there would surely be a method to my madness. A certain endgame, pushing people in a certain direction... maybe laying a trap for a wolf? That sounds vaguely "Cole-like." If I'm of that caliber - and I assure you, I am not - then there's something missing from your current equation. Some reason I would not want TD dead, besides some obvious surface-level choices.

Nah, the wolves can't afford it. Every time they use the Wolfscryer they tighten the noose around their own neck. If they haven't found the Alchemist yet, they're simply out of time. In addition to Alu they have (up to) two other candidates they can't kill at night. One of them is definitely TD. The other is probably a random from Night 0.

They also can't kill the Sleepwalker at night (assuming not checked), and if they hit the Alchemist at night (assuming not checked) they lose one of their own. Just like they couldn't afford to intentionally not kill Night 0, just like they can't afford to keep using Wolfscryer - they can't afford to sacrifice one of their own.

And there's no way we just happened to stumble into a situation where two wolves were on the chopping block. Not with the way we've been playing this game so far.

Jawneh sacrificing themselves was probably the dumbest move I could possibly imagine, one way or another.

This is still probably true, but it's a bold decision for what is otherwise a non-important role. Vanilla Townie has no functional use (player notwithstanding!), Vanilla Townie gives the Halfling room to hide, and Vanilla Townie helps obfuscate the discerning eye and makes it a little harder to pin down exact role guesstimates.

It's dumb. It's foolish. ...But it works.

Unfortunately, because Jawneh got lynched instead of TD, I was unwilling to mention my suspicion of Vash. But I guess now that TD is claiming to out Vash as a wolf, I'll throw it out there.

I reeeeaallllly wanted to see what TD's role turned out to be.

I don't have any information but my hunch, but Vash stated at the end of the last Zell game that being a baddie stresses him out. So what does he do in the first round of this game? Shitposting. Almost every single post was a joke or a gif, and there is no better way to avoid stressing out about being found out as a bad guy than to constantly make jokes. I even suggested just being truthful while being as sus as possible.

All that said, TD has been super sus. I can understand not wanting to be lynched and being angry about it if he was using his ability in three straight nights to gather information, but what are the odds that he manages to Seer all of the remaining wolves, one of which will show as a townie? I would have just done the same dumb strat when I singled out Cole in the last Zell game.
We shall see what other wolves TD claims to have knowledge of. Him pointing out Vash as a wolf is not good enough because I was already suspicious of him.

What the silly wolves didn't bother doing was reading the role of the Seer to see that they get a wolf identity if they check someone killed by the wolves.
