I claim that I know my own role.
So you’re saying you have a role…

TOWNIE ROLES
Seer: the classic. once per night, can PM me the name of any player and will discover that player's role, if any. if the seer targets someone who is also targeted by the wolves, the seer will instead learn the identity of one random wolf. if the seer targets someone who is also targeted by the Vigilante, the seer will instead learn the Vigilante's identity.

Vigilante: one of my favorite roles, the Vigilante has a supply of wolf-killin' bullets but also a heavy conscience. if the Vigilante successfully targets a wolf, the Vigilante can keep killin'. (might cap at three times, we will see). however, if the Vigilante kills an innocent, they won't be able to use their ability anymore and will basically be a regular townie for the rest of the game.

Doctor: another classic. can target one person per night to make sure they do not die. if their target is also a wolf target, the wolf target will remain alive but with scars indicating they were attacked by a wolf. so, they'll know, but no one else will. if the Doctor and the Vigilante target the same person...similar scars will let the person know they were shot. (the Vigilante will still lose their ability in this case.) the Doctor will even save a wolf, given that they'd be none the wiser. if this is confusing don't worry hopefully it doesn't happen

Polycule: i've seen this role group as, like, Masons in other games but come on this way is way funnier. this is a group of 4 townies who all know each other to be definitively townie. they have no real powers beyond this apart from loving each other very deeply. if they are targeted by either Seer, their role will only be shown as Townie. however, their identity as a member of the Polycule will be revealed in the event of their death.

Somnambulist: a very fancy word for sleepwalker. this person cannot be targeted by anyone during any night phase, except the seer. anyone who targets them will learn their role.

Tycoon: having recently come into a great deal of wealth, the Tycoon can bribe the executioner to break a tie. if they die, tie-breakers will be settled in the same way they were settled in the previous game. added wrinkle: if the wolves kill the Tycoon, they gain access to the money and they gain the ability to break ties

Alchemist: this person ain't going down without taking someone with them. the alchemist has been imbibing poisons not lethal enough to kill a human but definitely lethal to anyone of the lupine persuasion. if the Alchemist is targeted by the wolves, one random wolf will die during the following night phase.

Townie: can vote and can die. that's about it. there are 4 regular Townies in this game.

Townie is also classified as a Role in this game.

There is a distinct lack of bloodlust in this town. I don't like it.

Tempted to vote for TD so someone is at least reasonably close, but he can't defend himself and it's a little early for betrayal.
What kind of person is uncomfortable by the lack of bloodlust? Sounds like someone who’s got some wolfish characteristics.

I have to go to the office today so will be unlikely that I get to log back on before the day is finished

Changing my vote from Vash to Abstaining

That said even after reading the posts from overnight TD is making me suspicious. That said some of that is still lingering from when we all thought we had to kill someone, given that's not the case, maybe I just need to get over it.

Also out of game comment, does anyone have a way of checking that Tommy Boy is OK?

Wheeeeewww, shivers all up in here all the sudden. As if some frightful, vengeful spirit wanted to wring my neck! :paranoid

Thankfully I live in a town of laid-back, non-bloodthirsty townies where he can't get to me. :giggle

I'm too lazy to go find a good post to reply to about it, but regarding whether the polycule should out themselves or if that just makes them a target: it's true wolves go after confirmed townies, but that's because confirmed townies are useful to the town. So avoiding confirming people kind just does the work for them.

Since nobody has claimed scars, I think we can assume they found the person who can't be killed.

I'm not sure if there are any other roles that would be helpful for the wolves to avoid. I'd have to go back and look. If so, that would be a good reason not to out anyone unless it gives us helpful info.

Polys should definitely never out themselves, they shouldn't even tease it. Having 4 players who know each other are allies is extremely detrimental to the wolves, and wolves getting an easy shot at a poly makes their game much, much easier.

Unless the wolves targeted Tommy Boy and the doctor happened to protect him.

*unless exposing themselves saves the town from going down a dumb path

It also saves the seer from 4 "wasted" checks.
I see the argument both ways.
