From my own personal perspective, and I'm wrong more than right apparently, the primary win condition is based solely on who you're paired with. Which you know. I would STILL be playing to win with my team without giving up on the much harder primary win condition...

Which is REALLY making me think your coupled at this point because that seems to be PRECISELY what you're doing.

Straight out of the Dictionary:

The coupled players can still win with their original teams, but their first priority is to win together as a couple.

And because it's in the dictionary every single person would play it that way?

C'mon, man, you're one of the smartest people I know. You and I both know that it can be a "primary" win condition, but without outing the couple immediately, they are going to hide within their teams. And BECAUSE they can still win that way they are going to preserve that win condition too. Unless you really play stupidly, the couple and cupid still play to their backup win conditions simultaneously.

I straight up set up a back-up plan when I was cupideded that led to the town winning when my primary objective...well I think "failed" is a strong word here because of other people not playing to  their objective. :link
