The game has gotten a couple of updates since it launched, one of which apparently added co-op.

It was a 2023 release from the same development studio that worked on Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered.

Honestly, Satisfactory is still probably a better game.

I played a ton of that; the graphics are a bit more detailed, and the factory building a little less awkward.

Satisfactory however (at least at the time) had no storyline or anything, which this game did. This also had destructable terrain, letting you dig through rock and scratched that Red Faction itch.

I should really try both again, I'm sure the patches over the last year changed both quite a bit.

Or more precisely Spirit of Speed 1937, since Google tells me the date is in the title and not a tagline.

Shit game, only interesting because pre-war racing is underrepresented.

Acclaim brought back the LJN name just to release Spirit of Speed without tainting their name knowing it was utter trash, but slapped their name all over BMX XXX with zero shame.

Those pre-war cars were absolutely nuts. Mercedes took theirs and put an aerodynamic shell on it.



Of course the safest place to test this would be some kind of test track, so naturally a public road near Frankfurt was selected. Their star driver Rudolf Caracciola took it out in the morning and topped out at over 271mph. Until 2017 it was the fastest speed ever recorded on a public road.

Their rival Auto Union (precursor to Audi) had their own go at it a few hours later but unfortuately by that time the wind had picked up and a gust flipped the car, killing their own star driver Bernd Rosemeyer. After than point even with the lax safety standards of the day it was deemed too unsafe to continue on public roads.
