FR gets the answer so why:
I have even pulled out the piano app on my phone and tried to ear-ball the notes, in hopes I could search that against some MIDI database or something, but that ain't worked either.

I probably know even less about music theory than I do video game music, but this is what I hear for that one instrument at least;
E - B D E - B D E - B D E - B D / D - A C D - A C D - A C D - A C / C - G B C - G B C - G B C - G B

I recorded a .mid while playing it. First bar was a played a touch slow but I think it's in the right key.

Audacity note map of that MID.

None of this puts me any closer to working out what the hell it is.

My YouTube watch history is buggered from trying to brute force this.

I'm running out of Western-vibe games to check.

TBF, I know it more from Smash Bros. It's one of my more favorite themes used in the game. I've never heard it in a Kirby game as I've never bothered to beat any, even if they're super easy.
Kirby Superstar is fantastic (Great Cave Offensive FTW), and Kirby's Adventure for the NES is an excellent game. Dreamland for the Gameboy is really good too and can be finished within an hour

FR gets the answer so why:
Because when I listened to the compilation that FR posted, I didn't hear the higher melody part at all. Then when TD and others continued guessing I assumed it wasn't likely FR was right. :shrug

Going back to King Dedede's theme and being able to play it louder, I do totally hear the part I managed to play as the "bass line". Still don't hear the other tune but I guess that's another instrument that Rachel didn't give us yet.

Still sounds western as fuck in that midi format.

It's funny a new version of the song can make it sound completely different. From the first two seconds of this version, I knew the song, too. I'm sure the next version will make it click and sink in if you still can't quite hear it yet.
It's way more obvious when I skipped forward to the Super Smash Bros Brawl version. The Game Boy ones seem kinda obvious now, but I'd been trying to listen quietly so my family didn't grill me on why I've been meticulously crawling through the 'Gun.Smoke' or 'Tin Star' OSTs. At some point I just went down a rabbit hole of finding all the western/cowboy themed games that ever existed... Wild Arms, Wild Guns, Sunset Riders, Lethal Enforcers II, gun.smoke, Tin Star, Red Dead Revolver, Red Dead Redemption, Gun...

But hey, I guess I taught myself how to play part of King Dedede's theme on piano, so I'll take it.

(Video linked to the Super Smash Bros Brawl one, where it's obvious. If Rachel only sees this post and not Fool's earlier one, Fool's was the one who got it.)

((Still don't really hear that higher "Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Db-Db-Db-Db-Db-Db-Db-Db-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B' bit but I guess it's hidden behind the louder part in the song.))

Dang man, that is dedication. I get it though: I did the same thing with the first few songs, but I realized that it's mostly a fool's errand 😅 (my phone now autocapitalizes "Fool's" apparently).

For starters, the midi format often changes the sound of the song so that it's fairly unrecognizable. And then, how often do we really pay attention to the percussion or the bass lines in a song? Not that often I reckon, and many songs have the same/similar percussion and bass lines. The first couple of rounds are usually not worth guessing or searching for. Like you guys said, the song sounds very western in the first few versions, but the most recent version is anything but.

There's also this weird phenomenon that, when you listen to the version Rachel posts a few times, you think "oh, I know this song! I've heard it before!" In my case, it was true, but I was NOT thinking Kirby at all, and I probably never would've until the most recent version -- even if the actual song were put right after it.

I hadn't posted in a few hours because I was looking up the differences between Swedish and Finnish and I didn't want to come back and look silly

I'm very excited about this one. I can't wait to see if anyone can get this on Version A. My husband I think got this on version B and I want to see if anyone can beat that

No guess but I know I will never get a Kirby song as I don't like the Kirby games. Only one I liked was the DS one that made you use the stylus, that was fun
FYI, they made another one that made heavy use of the stylus on the Wii U, its called Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

I assume I'm the only person still using a Wii U, though.

I missed FR's post for the last one completely, though fortunately I did not waste time actually playing the game as opposed to shitposting.

I hadn't posted in a few hours because I was looking up the differences between Swedish and Finnish and I didn't want to come back and look silly
Well it's easy - they are completely unrelated. Finnish is quite an isolated language, and of the more popular languages in Europe it's only really related to Estonian and more loosely Hungarian. As a result those three are considered the hardest European languages to learn for an English speaker.

So this reminds me of I Got The Power which it obviously isn't so I'll stick to my RPG theme and just guess...

I'm gonna throw out a blind guess for Mario again.

I personally liked the Wii U and still have one, although I haven't played it in a while.

I had fun. And I still don't hear it in that actual song if I'm being honest.
That's me with every song!
