Guess the Video Game Music

Never played a Paper Mario in my life so I have nothing meaningful to contribute.

Dude, I clicked through so many of those playlists trying to find it, I had to go delete the entire day of watch history on YouTube because I couldn't feasibily remove each one individually.

I didn't want the algorithm suddenly thinking I was fucking nuts for Sticker Star.

All fruitless though, I didn't find shit.

And now I've realized Sticker Star is a whole ass other game. Then upon further searching, I've learned there are six Paper Mario games. Likely all with similarly huge soundtracks.

No wonder the Amazon is being cut down so quickly.

Maybe Nintendo will see the light and we'll see Paperless Mario in the future.

I'm pretty sure I ruled out the battle music. I sat through a 'best of' v compilation from all the games and didn't find it.

It sounds like it could have been a credit-roll score, but didn't find anything there either.

All the toad town tracks, etc. don't seem to fit.

I've started to hate how good all of these Mario OST's have gotten over the years. I skipped through random Paper Mario ones and holy crap are these something.

What I can gleam from the music is that it's either some odd pause or title music, or it could be from a scene where Mario is getting taught a new thing. Or training a new thing. It sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I can't pinpoint from where tho.

I think y'all are not listening to the tracks you are finding long enough since this doesn't show up immediately in the song, some of these songs I post won't have the intro, this is like 30 seconds into the song. Edit: or sometimes my version will have the intro but only in the final version.

If so, you'll be super irritated with the way Mega Man plays. In Contra, you can crouch and shoot as well as shoot up (diagonally, anyway). In early Mega Man games there is no duck function, and in order to shoot at things higher than you, you have to jump.

I have, but not until probably mid-2000s when I found it on some arcade collection on Xbox 360 or something.

My first console was a SEGA Mega-Drive (Genesis), so I skipped the NES entirely and didn't play a lot of those exclusive titles. I did get a SNES later on but the Playstation came out a few years later and locked me in on that instead of N64 (which I never owned).

Pretty sure I remember playing Metal Slug as the closest to that style of game.

EDIT: To be more specific, my first console was the SEGA Multi-Mega CD (Genesis CDX). But same deal.

Never should have traded that to a friend for a bunch of burned PS1 CDs. It's apparently worth $2,000+ now.
