I MAY have sat and laughed at that video for long enough that now my feed is flooded with his videos again.

I'm addicted to the shorts and people like him and Benchwarmer Bran often find their way into my feed and make me giggle... but I will say not EVERYTHING I post is suitable for work... I'm looking at you Yeah Mad!

Honestly even though it's my favorite franchise ever, it slumped after 2 when they weren't using Chrichton's work.

When I say Jurassic Park, I mean Jurassic Park. The original. Every other one since has been meh at best or downright

I worry for the new ones they're planning.

When I first heard they were moving past the Chris Pratt action-hero plot onto a Rebirth, I hoped they'd go back to like... The semi-horror roots. But apparently it's 5 years later and Scarlett Johansson is playing some kind of super-spy tasked with collecting DNA from the last few remaining giant species of dino in the wild.

Not real-people running from dinosaurs and dying suddenly. It'll be another action-star with plot armor kind of movie.

So, meh. Original forever. 💯

It's just Universal trying to steal Marvel stars since they don't want to keep paying their biggest competitor directly via theme park anymore :link

I mentioned it somewhere else but I recently lost my Jurassic Park virginity and watched the original three. The first is by far the best.

I'd very much like to see the Jurassic Park area they built in Islands of Adventure. Particularly the Velocicoaster which looks awesome. They are apparently planning a park here in the UK but I have no doubt it'll be shit.

Jurassic Park is a classic. It was designed to hold up well over time, and it does IMO. I also liked the one they made a few years ago (?) that brought back some of the old characters and had a bunch of references to the first movie. I couldn't help but still cover my eyes when the acid-spitting dinosaur made an appearance though.

I'd rank them 1, 2, 4, 5, 3, 6.

1 is clearly timeless. It literally changed visual effects in the film industry, killed GoMotion and other forms of animation. It set the bar for the next decade of movies.

And it follows the novel enough to still work as a good story. They used some of the novel themes in Lost World too, which is why it's good but not quite there.

Dominion hurt me so much. It could have been great, but the 'globe hopping lol giant locusts' plot as the big terror, and the 'he's like the joker' Giga who did... Nothing. Plus I'm annoyed they had to try to kill Rexy to be edgy. They didn't use the old cast very well. And right about when Owen punched the Dilophosaur in the face is when I was over it. Good spectacle, bad story.

Yeah that's fair. I don't remember being into the story. It's probably mostly nostalgia talking.

What they should have done, imo, for a big 'bring everyone back' movie, was focus on Lex and Tim Murphy living an ordinary life when dinosaurs start showing up horror movie style. Like, full procompsygnathus in a baby crib novel style horror.

And then those two have to seek out the original adults, Grant, Sattler, Malcolm for help. Keep it isolated to a small location, make it feel like actual people trying to survive, not action heroes.

I did like the Therizinosaurus in Dominion, as it's my favorite herbivore. They should have just landed on that as their new villain dinosaur and not slathered it on top of the Giga.
