I would like it to go on record that my maiden name was better than Vash's last name, but if he would have taken my name instead it would have given him a name very close to my father's name. So it was kind of weird. It also would not work as a hyphen name sadly.

My wife's maiden name was french (like mine) and started with a D (like mine). Her old married name started with an M so when she dropped her ex husbands name for mine when we got married she got the D again.

It was near dusk in Moonshine, only you couldn’t tell because it’s been dark since about mid day thanks to that OP shadow wolf.

A very small crowd gathered at the gallows, small even for this town with a population of only ten people not including the two inept lawmen.

Someone with a bag over their head is being forced up the steps and the noose placed around his neck.

“YOU’RE MAKING A MISTAKE! I’M THE RITUALIST I TELL YOU!!”

From the nearby cemetery, a muffled voice could be heard near the gunner’s headstone. “Jawneh? The Ritualist?”

“I VOTED BENZINE RIGHT UP TO THE END!” were Jawneh’s last words.

Two of the lynching mob (if you could call it a mob) transformed under cover of darkness and began howling their victory as the trap door released under Jawneh’s feet, then were seen loping off into the shadows.

Sheriff Benzine came waddling out of the nearby outhouse without washing his hands or even wiping himself properly and said “Got-dangit they killed Jawneh and I missed it? I wish I coulda seen.” Then he spit at Jawneh’s feet and said, “thank gawd he's dead.”

When the remaining townsfolk lowered the corpse and searched it, they found a bunch of flags in the pockets.

Jawneh was the Flagger.
