Since you can win with your original team, maybe he didn't trust you to keep the secret.
This.
But if he dies, I die… case in point… so for my own survival, I need to keep him alive, and hope he doesn’t use me as a suicide bomber
But before you die, you can reveal me to everyone. If you're a wolf, you can reveal to them. Then, even IF you die, you still win. That part of cult leader should probably be amended to instill more trust among the group. I had none. I apologize for that. Kinda.
In Jon's defense, Vash was shot and revealed as cult, a bandwagon formed on him, and everyone skipped - all while he hasn't been online.
Yeah, but I had a good day with my wife and daughter. We saw Wicked. So I don't care. I'm just sorry it ended up costing Kut too.
In Jon’s defense, he could have sent me a message at any point, like he did during day 1 when I was converted and he sent a cryptic message
Again, there was calculated thought to that, even if you don't agree with it.
After your double agent play, I'm not sure I can really blame him.
And this is part of it.
It was a very sad turn of events for sure. I probably would have not mentioned anything about protecting Vash though. Without that I don't think he comes across as suspicious at all in terms of being cult leader.
That was a calculated risk I took to TRY and get some heat off Vash. I knew he was likely wildcard or wolf, so I tried to find a risky way to get heat off him. But dimmerwit killed him and I was away, so it all went to hell in a handbasket because I couldn't defend myself. I will say, it does suck a little having not skipped and not getting a chance to respond at all.
I'm not upset though because those elaborate lies are partly the thing I dislike the most.
He chose me to be part of the cult. It wasn’t an accident. I wasn’t converted until mid-day phase. If he wanted to stay a secret from me, he should not have chosen me
I didn't actually choose you. I literally used a random number generator and it came up your number blindly. Can ask Zell, I sent him the screenshot of the RNG. I know now you're a person that likes to know. That's in my back pocket. But telling you means I needed to trust you, and as TD pointed out, your double agent play didn't instill me with the most confident feelings. Because like the DA, you can simply win with the town if they win this. So why protect my secret.
That feels like going against your new win condition.
Is it a new win con though? That's where I struggled. Because there is no real loyalty. If the wording was "The converted can only win as the cult" then this plays out a tad differently.
You shouldn't. You were random.
On Vash - You were my first choice night two. For the lolz and irony (because I know you think I wouldn't purposely try to convert or protect you). But, this isn't true. I would on both parts. I tried to protect TD once as doctor even knowing he was a wolf. I protected Jawneh because I wanted him to have a chance to play a game. You seem to be under an impression I don't like you or something. Hell I joked if I ever got a gun I'd attack you without thinking. And yet when I did get a gun, I didn't even consider it because you weren't a baddie that game. I also had no intention on sacrificing anyone unless I was backed into a corner and HAD to kill someone to protect my win con.
On Kut - I know you're a person that would play to your own survival. And I'm sorry you were the night 1 convert and felt I should have told you who I was. And I'm sorry that directly led to me being lynched and you getting killed. None of it was personal. To answer too why I chose Ben's avenger tactic... because it literally would have caused the most havoc when the cult dies. It could have cascaded into a 9 kill moment.
On Benzine - I wish I would have fucking converted you because I really think this turns out way different with your internal strategizing. Fool's really screwed me over, so I don't keel bad he lost his kill.
On cult leader - I like the role, but the win con needs to be tweaked for members. It only works with trust, or an ability for the leader to dictate. They can only send one way messages, don't know the cultists roles, and the cultists have no reason to listen to an anonymous leader. Cultists can't voice their opinions, don't have to listen to the leader and don't have to even perform the actions they're asked to. Too much changing and it's just cupid with nightly conversions and a kill possibility. But it's INSANELY slow. Add to that and the cultists legit have zero reason to listen to the leader, and it's a fun role (with potential) but it'll never win.
