1. This shadow could have been premeditated

2. This could have been a response to something (meeeeee)

If 2, then it's not unlikely that the wolves might not be coordinated and need to hint to each other who the target is.

There a few possibilities to waste Shadow Wolf here

1. Ben is Shadow Wolf.
2. Ben is not a wolf, but the wolves think this will make it obvious that #1 is the case here and think they can get an easy lynch by making Ben look bad.
3. Ben isn't a Shadow Wolf, but the wolves have multiple Shadow wolves and can afford to waste one on day one.
4. Wolves are just fucking around and don't care if they waste a Shadow.

You can't communicate during the day until the first day after the shadow is done. Night time comms only
