duct tape was initially called duck tape because it used a type of cloth called cotton duck or duck cloth. It was later called "duct tape" because it was used a lot in the 50s for air duct construction.

I would make the argument that the original "duck tape" was a fabric and the newer invention "duct tape" is different because it's not the same and created to improve upon the original duck tape...but that would also be admitting that the original joke should stand.

So I won't make that argument and just dismiss the idea out of hand.

Gasps and murmurs all around.

Judge Reinhold drags Jon to the gallows. "Any last words?"

Jon calmly states "No, I have been led to the gallows many times before. It is not thy first nor will it be thy last time knowing the hangman's noose. I am innocent, but I know the gallows cares not for my innocence. "

The trap door opens and Jon meets his maker

The village comes closer to inspect Jon's warm corpse to see exactly who was he.

Jon has been convicted and hung, he was the wolf trickster.
