Went skiing in Salt Lake City when I was 15 (it was a very expensive school trip but I spoke to my wife, who was in the grade below me for the first ever time so worth it). We went to a Jazz game while we were there so that’s when I became a fan.Well Andy, that is one of the weirdest combinations I've ever seen.
Funnily enough I was a huge Utah Jazz fan as a kid. I rooted for them against the Bulls in the finals in 97 and 98. Back when Boston sports fans rooted for the underdog or lovable losers in the 90s since the Red Sox didn't get good until 99, the Celtics until 08, and the Patriots in 01.
Jordan pushed off Bryon Russell in 98. Still something I didn't get over.
Started watching NFL shortly after and as Utah didn’t have a team I was going to go with one of the airports we stopped in so that was between Atlanta and Cincinnati and I went with Atlanta.
Wife and I then went to a few cities in America about 8 years ago and while we were in Boston we went to Fenway to watch the world champion Red Sox lose dismally to the Orioles having already been eliminated from playoff contention but that was how I ended up with them!
