Last movie I saw was Ant-man 3

I’m waiting for that to be streaming somewhere. Do anyone know where/when I can find it streaming?
I saw Ant Man 3 as well actually. Don't watch many films at all nowadays but do watch the Marvel ones. I really enjoyed it. Jonathan Majors was just outstanding as Kang.

I've seen conflicting stuff on where you can watch Across the Spiderverse. It's obviously Sony so won't necessarily be straight on Disney Plus. I assume it'll be on one of the streaming services eventually so will just watch it then.

I got around to seeing Everything Everywhere All at Once last night! I liked it, thought it was pretty entertaining! Had some good laughs and some thoughtworthy moments!

Also fun to see Ke Huy Quan back on the big screen.

I half watched the new Avatar when my wife was watching it but couldn't get into it.
I walked out of the theater. I loved Avatar 1 but could not stand Avatar 2. The hell with the way that story is going. Some Jesus redemption trash, mixed with brain juice and whale jizz. I'm all set. Won't be seeing the remaining movies.

I watch at least 2 movies a week over the internet with my girlfriend who is currently abroad. The last two we watched were Stranger than Fiction (2006) and Jojo Rabbit (2019). Jojo Rabbit was quite a movie, I really liked the angle.

I tried, really I tried, but I couldn't get into it and was really confused. It might not have helped that I was watching it on my phone on a plane. The film I did manage to watch and understand on the plane was The Whale. Very thought provoking.

At the cinema I last saw Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3. Excellent romp.

Late to the party, but I just finished Stranger Things on Netflix and am girding my loins to watch the new Witcher. Both are on the edge of what I can tolerate in terms of scary/gory. Would love some recommendations as terrestrial TV is a bit pants these days.

finally saw Across the Spider-Verse with the fiancee and a friend on sunday. tremendous movie and i hope the animators get 308402 years to make the second part of it

later that day we threw on this random movie that was on Tubi (free streaming service) called, ahem, THE FELLOWS HIP: RISE OF THE GAMERS. its from 2013 and its about some gamers who go on an lotr-style journey to go win a lotr online competition. it fuckin sucked but it was never so bad that we had to turn it off, which is what we had to do with Ted a few weeks back (i joked about watching it and my friend called my bluff so i called her bluff and we had a terrible 30 minutes.)

I enjoyed the film, but thought it was overrated a tad. It tries to be too many things IMO.

I also didn’t enjoy EEAAO, but I’ll give it another go in a year or two. I think it was well-made and I just don’t vibe with it, but I also have a couple of bones to pick with the underlying concept.

This year I’ve been to the cinema on one occasion: to see Asteroid City. IMO Anderson’s best, and extremely thoroughly considered both in concept and execution.

I’m a little autistic, and I found I get very emotional about people doing a very good job pushing the limits of technology (both in making it happen, but also how they write about it). AC made me feel a lot all across the board (my guess is that Anderson is also a little autistic), and on this occasion both due to technique and substance. But I’m not American, and suspect I missed a lot of cultural context that would otherwise have made for an even more intense experience. Which is funny, because most of the comments I’ve seen about the film online have said something along the lines of “this sucks, Anderson’s gone too far into being ultra-clinical and emotionless”. For me it was the opposite. I was filled with grief from start to finish, and I pretty much never feel this way about films.

Watched both Richie Rich and 1408 last night. Richie Rich is always fun. 1408 is a hell of a thriller.

I've watched:

Fast X - terrible
Super Mario Movie - terrible
Asteroid City - loved it
Ted Lasso Season 3 - mixed feelings
Witcher Season 3 pt 1 - mixed feelings

I saw the previews to Asteroid City by Wes Anderson and thought it looked like a movie rendition of Outer Worlds. I've always thought his aesthetic was really awesome but I've never watched any of his movies. I just don't watch movies ever. But I had a free night last weekend and watched Hotel Budapest... and it was something. I liked how eccentric they look and the actors act. I thought it was fantastic and will now... eventually... watch more of his movies.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 last night on Disney+. It was thoroughly entertaining.

Previous weekend I saw Oppenheimer at my local theater and it was excellent! Had amazing seats, popcorn and dr pepper while my fiance had a couple double bourbon/whiskeys with big rocks (tullamore dew or macallan 12, something like that). The only negative was the audio was a little too quiet, and the crowd and line for snacks, but we made it to our seats in time to enjoy the trailers.

Figured I'd come back to this. Recently watched both seasons of Good Omens. That show is pretty great, and I'd highly recommend it.

Started Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building when that came out, looking forward to the remaining episodes.

We recently watched a full docuseries called High on the Hog, which is about the African Influences in American cuisines. It was a good one if you like historical or cooking shows.

I'm watching Good Omens and enjoying it too :D Also happy to put my hand up as another huge fan of the Spiderverse duo.

I watched Everything Everywhere All at Once. That was mad. The weird fighting mid-section of the film went on too long to enjoy but I liked the beginning and the end.

I also watched The Whale. Very good film, excellent characters, kept me hooked throughout. Only part I didn't like was the very beginning which was a bit gross.

Haha true! I felt bad for his friend who wanted him to save himself. His reasons felt pretty real as a motive though, I think there are plenty of grossly obese people out there today who refuse to get help for one reason or another. Their refusal being among the reasons they let the situation get to where it did in the first place.

Just kinda nice to have a sympathetic movie about obesity. It's not a very Hollywood subject!

I caught up on all the Insidious movies this past weekend so I can watch The Red Door. Not sure when I'll be watching it but at least I'm "up to speed." Now I gotta reprise myself on all the Conjuring movies to prepare for The Nun 2.

Dead thread, but I just watched Past Lives, really good, bitter sweet nostaligic look at things that could have been.

Finally got around to seeing Barbie and I enjoyed it a lot. Even if the message was rather blunt and not subtle, it is still a good message and had some genuinely heart warming moments, especially with the mom and how she still thought about the memories of her daughter being young. Makes a little tear swell in my eye thinking about my son and him growing old and out of stuff we do together now.
