Watch Parties???

Have we done anything like watch parties here before? Besides like a game thread, I mean. Plenty of those on Reddit. Something like us all being in a Discord or a Teamspeak type chat room while we watch something like big NCAA football matches, the World Series, NFL playoffs and Super Bowl?

If we want a chat-room type environment there is a chat add-on we could make use of, includes rooms that can be used for specific events if needed. I don't think we keep it active full time, just for those watch parties if threads won't work, because chat rooms can be the death of a forum from an activity standpoint. Granted, the way things are setup at the moment threads are basically like live chats as it is.

We could also help facilitate it and promote it here no different than the Wolf games and gaming club. It could certainly be a way to help drive this forum, and there’s that pick ‘em add-on that’s itching for a use.

If y’all come up with a solid way to set up watch parties, I’m all for it and willing to help anyway I can.

Damnit, there's me forgetting to get that setup. Need to manually enter the teams, leagues, seasons, etc. and then it's good to go, just need someone or a couple of someones to tend to it during the weeks to manage games, picks, etc.

It's meant for live events, picking the winners in advance, but it ultimately could be used for anything sports related, even eSports if someone knows the scheduling and whatnot.

Nope, it's basically betting without money. Setup the week's events, everyone picks their winners, the more right the higher you go on the leaderboard.

Nice. It’s a shame we’re so far into the MLB season, because it would be pointless to get that one going unless we were going to only count the playoffs. NFL isn’t far off, though, but it looks like you already started fiddling with that and have some teams loaded.

Yeah, I got a bit of a start on that, just need to actually get the rest in there, lol. It's a bit of a manual process getting it all setup, but it's worth it once it's all in there.

If you already have the png files for the logos in the directory, shoot me a screenshot of the file names and I can take care of it in the morning. I’ll be up early, but I’ll also have some free time scattered throughout the day since it’s one of my slow days. If not, as long as you can point me to where you got the logos you’re using for the existing teams for continuity’s sake, I can grab them myself.

Fair enough. I’ll see if I can find somewhere that has a complete set and start fucking around with that in the morning. I might stick with just setting up the pre-season first and then switch over to the MLB one for the playoffs and WS depending on how quickly I get rolling through it.
