Undergarments

This is a weird one but I'd like to ask the masses.

For years, I only wore American Eagle boxers. I'd say between 2007-2020, it's all I wore. Not for brand loyalty or anything, but those were just the ones I preferred. When I moved to NYC, most of them were rags by that point and I felt it was time to move on from AE boxers. I tried out some Calvin Klein boxers from Amazon that were great at first, but slowly fell apart over 1.5 years. I had to completely replace all pairs last summer. Now, I'm back in the same boat - with what I think are knockoff CKs from Amazon for the second time. The second batch is now at their end of life after only one year. I will add that I gained a little weight and my legs have a slight chubb rubb going on right now, but nothing to disintegrate my boxers. I think I got knockoffs rather than CK being a shitty brand, but I'm just not sure.

I started wearing Uniqlo Air-ism seamless boxer briefs and they are a game changer. Probably the most comfortable kind of boxer-brief I've ever worn, which I needed it to be since I'm converting over from loose boxers for the majority of my life. I tossed all the CK boxers and bought 10 pairs of these airisms. They protect the chubb rubb, they are super light and breathable, and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is they're a little slippery due to the material, and sometimes my clothes rotate from the lack of friction. Not a deal breaker though.

Now my question: What do you all wear and why? What do you prefer? What's the best undergarment you prefer to wear, and what's been the worst in your experience? No judgements here, just looking for feedback based on experience.

lol

Hipster trunks. Better grip than boxers and no silly buttons. 100% cotton baby, I want a soft ride.

It seems like when you hit a certain age, the flowiness of boxers loses their charm and the inevitable conversion to boxer briefs happens. Is this for any particular reason for anybody else?

When I was really young, probably around 10 or 11, I remember people being made fun of for wearing "tighty whiteys" so I begged my dad to get me boxers. I didn't want to be caught dead or alive with TWs on. So my initial switch was due to peer pressure, but as I got older I think it was leg pressure (quite literally lol)

I've worn boxers exclusively since like 10. I can't imagine I'll ever switch to any kind of brief, I'm not looking to lose valuable space and cramp things.

Most of mine are Hanes that are legit probably 15+ years old, but aside from the elastic giving out some they're far from threadbare. There's maybe been one or two packs of Fruit of the Loom added over time, but clothes in general has never been something I've particularly cared about. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs. Used to hate underwear until boxer briefs became prevalent. Briefs too constricting and boxers always made me feel like I was gonna flop out and end up on a sex offender list considering I mainly wore shorts because Florida.

Boxers. Hanes. Tagless. Buttonless.

They’ll last just as long as high end boxers, but you won’t feel like a dumbass for spending as much on one pair as you do for an entire pack.

Not that those of you who do buy high-end boxers are dumbasses, because I happen to be one myself with cheap boxers.

You probably are still a dumbass, though, but not for that reason and in fancy underpants.

I never realized guys had hipsters, on the women's side hipsters are...something a bit different than what I'm assuming the guys version is, so now I'm picturing a bunch of dudes in panties...thanks for that, lol.
They're effectively Speedo shaped, slightly more fabric on the hips

To be honest, I am so fair skinned and our sun so brutal that I've never tanned in my life nor spent much time outside with too much skin exposed. Family history of skin cancers also makes me very careful

Can’t say I blame you, dude. Melanoma is pretty dangerous if left unchecked, definitely not worth the gamble for some pigmentation.

It's been fruity loomy or hanes boxer briefs for forever. All depending on which ones had a better dollars per boxers ratio.

I've had some regular boxers, but aside from them generally having some neater graphics on they, I've yet to wear regular boxers that I've felt comfortable in. And I tend to free ball it whenever I don't got to wear jeans.

I can't free ball it. I don't even like full on boxers. I like my junk to be secure.
That's where I was too in terms of boxers too. But then I tried it again, maybe due to the wife suggesting to leave extra stuff out, and found out that anything like softer shorts, slacks, or similar all are fine free balling. Just jeans, cargo everything and anything that's not elastic enough feel weird. And boxers also tended to ride up my legs all the time and make things feel bad.

My mental image of you is still a Tool t-shirt and knee length cargo shorts, so... VashTheSchlongpeen.

It's always important to keep the one-eyed trouser snake packed away safely.
Lies. If you're not going commando in grey sweatpants every once in a while and timing how long it takes for your partner to state "...you're not wearing underwear", you're missing out.

I never really gave a shit about what I wore until I got Joe Boxer boxer-briefs. Those things are INSANELY comfortable, look great, and last for ages. I buy new pairs every time I go home to Canada.

I've tried Calvin Klein -- they're uncomfortable and poorly made, and dig into my leg-meat.

I have another brand that look sexy, but I forget the name of them right now, and one of them detached from the waistband pretty easily so I wouldn't buy them again.

This "chubb" is an American (I assume) colloquialism I did not know until I was playing some Korean MMO (2moons?) and one of the fishing messages was "you have acquired a chubb." mara wouldn't stop laughing and had to explain

Chubb rub is where your thighs rub together and chafe

And this chafing, rubbing motion gives you a chubb, got it.

That’s the ‘ol Tub Chub Rub.

Y’all probably call it a tallywhacker clicky-clacker across the pond… or something posh-sounding like that.

Boxer Briefs, I think Puma, costco carriers them and they're cheap and comfy and supportive
