Same. I was that teenager running with an ounce in my pocket so I didn’t have to spend the night waiting to be picked up from baby bookings. I’ve smoked pretty consistently for over 20 years now, and what started off as purely recreational has become so much more. I was never one of those people held back by it, it has always enhanced life for me.

There has been the odd time in my life that I felt it was "bad" for me, but overall that has not been the case and certainly not since it was legalized.

Also now it looks like I'm at least talking to someone and not just talking to Christina's reactions.

Legalization has been a weird thing for me, because it was legal for a while before I made my first dispensary purchase, which didn’t even happen until we moved over an hour from the city. I stayed away from legal bud for a while because it wasn’t strong enough for me, our highest test stuff was hitting the mid 20% range for upwards of $50-$60/3.5g. I can’t rationalize paying that when I can get bud from the west coast coming in around the high 20% to low 30% range for half that, but I found a dispensary with a hell of a loyalty program that runs a ton of promos every week that carries stuff that hits the mid 30%+ range for the same as black market prices. All it took was a few grow cycles after recreational legalization for them to catch up with the west coast over here.

I wish they'd legalize here just because Christina prefers it over alcohol.

Me, I've tried it like...3-4 times. The first time was around the time No Man's Sky came out and it was such a cool, chill experience. A great day I remember fondly.

Every other time I've pretty much had panic attacks lol

Yeah, for someone like you, I’d recommend a nice and heavy indica dominant hybrid. You strike me as the type that would benefit most from a nice ratio of both indica and sativa that favors the pain relief and relaxation indica gives, but still has the mood enhancing properties of a sativa. I’d venture to bet your panic attack came from a sativa, because my buddy down there says that sativa is definitely the prevalent type available.

Mark is like the Weed Whisperer.

In terms of weed vs alcohol, when I didn't smoke as much I drank a lot.

Now it's weed-dominant. I've only drank once since October and that was over the holidays.

Generally though, the legalization is probably the biggest reason for my shift.

Dude, I’ve had two drinks in the last decade, and they were social drinks with Kristina a few years ago.



I noticed minimal changes after the first few months, but after the first few years the changes were evident. I’m a much happier person without alcohol.

I've heard similar stories and it's what I'm hoping for. The desire for it has even started to ween.

Couple that with alcohol don't just sit the same as when I was young sometimes.. yeah.

What I did to help me leave it behind was pack a bowl every time I wanted to drink. Yeah, it’s still escapism, but… lesser of two evils, right? After a while, you don’t think about pouring a drink and you just wait til the next bowl. That dosing schedule thing I mentioned to Ben in the weed thread is what I have done for years, and I always end up smoking the same amount all the time. Today for example, we had two bowls between us for the wake and bake. A couple hours later, we had two more. We never sit and smoke for hours on end, it’s always something we time with going outside for a cigarette. If we’re sitting back playing the game and bullshitting around like we’re doing now… then we’ll hit the concentrate pen or have some edibles. A typical dose of edibles for us is 50-75mg each, depending on how high we wanna fly.
