This wasn't something I expected to get a reboot, but... I'm not mad.

Humor might be a bit too self-aware given there being two 4th wall breaks in the trailer, where the original was played very straight, but it's definitely got the absurd vibe.

I like the casting of Liam, wasnt a huge fan of the trailer until the very last joke. Hopefully they are keeping the best jokes close to chest and not giving them away in the trailer.

One of the writers was a writer on teh show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which I loved, though not sure how much input he had on that or this

I'm more OK with it being a reboot than a remake. Before I watched the whole thing, I assumed Liam Neeson was supposed to be replacing literally Leslie Neilson, but the twist that it's Frank's son sits a little better.

Yeah, that's what turned me, the it's his son thing, that got me more on side.

Stephen Merchant is abnormally tall. He's just a comically sized person, but also very good at comedy.

I love the Naked Gun movies, and the trailer for this reboot made me feel like I'm in safe hands. Liam Neeson is such an odd choice, but I can see it being good, and I don't know who else I would otherwise pick. The reveal and then the OJ joke at the end had me in stitches. Loved it. Can't wait for this.

Leslie was an odd choice for Airplane he was also a former serious actor. I do think Liam can be downright funny at times and I think will give similar vibes
