So reading and posting in Crystals thread, I was somehow reminded of an anecdotal story about my mom, and yes I'm using it yo get some free internet hugs.

this story is at least in part for my new found fellow Reesesaholic friend @Lunar Kreskents

those of you that eat Reese's me be familiar with the double wrapper. sometimes on a normal Reese's cup, the chocolate will have TWO of the cup wrappers on one piece. some manufacturing abnormality I guess.

towards the very end, my mom was in a rehab/nursing home, and myself and my close friend that was also close with my mom obviously spent the whole day there.

at one point we slipped out yo get some snacks for us/other family and friends that were there.

we got some Reese's Big Cups, maybe for the first time.

we sat in the lunch area and we're trying our best to force some food down.

I opened my big cup and started peeling off the wrapper, and then another wrapper, and I kept peeling. wrapper after wrapper, there were 7 wrappers on one cup, and 6 on another. in a single package of 2 Reese's cups, I was staring at 13 wrappers spread out in front of us.

we laughed. me, my friend, her mom, we all just busted out laughing. obviously it was the only moment of levity we had.

I don't know if I believe in God, I don't think I believe in an afterlife.

but ever since that day (and yes I'm crying atm), anytime I open a big cup and I get more than 1 (or even 2) wrappers per cup, I smile, I imagine it's my mom just saying hi.

so the next time you open a big cup and find yourself shedding wrappers, send me a picture, and tell my mom I said hi.

yes I did not like them, personally.

I only tried them once, and they were kinda stale despite the date being fine. I didn’t see them again after that, though… My girl is obsessed with Reese’s, so I have to pick up everything I see for her. The ice cream sandwiches were good, though.

Damn you, you made me cry! That's a great story, and while I don't eat Reese's too often, I will accept that challenge!
