I want to say we've had the problem when it isn't the first post too, but those are typically scheduled posts so I had just assumed that was the problem there.
Nope, I didn't schedule it for exactly that reason.Correct. The only other times I’ve seen someone report this issue is with scheduled posts. Was your post scheduled, @Kat?
Nope, I didn't schedule it for exactly that reason.
I would not be surprised if the thing is being magically fickle from using quote or something, even if you're deleting the quote afterwards.I'm not editing anything. I go to my previous post, click quote. Then I start a new thread, and insert the quote. Then I click the [ ] icon to view the code and delete the quote tags. Then I go back to the WYSIWYG editor, make any other changes to the post I want to make, then post it.
I post it as sticky, but I don't lock the thread.
That's so odd. It shouldn't be an issue. I'll search XF releases and see if it was a bug addressed in subsequent releases, or if it's one we need to address with them.So the problem does indeed seem to be quoting.
In the first one I quoted where you were tagged then removed the quote coding.
In the second one I just straight up tagged you.
When you quote, it already has the user tags added. Maybe that's related? Perhaps a "feature" to prevent tags from notifying people when they're quoted? So it looks like this:That's so odd. Question -- if you switch to BBCode mode:When you quote, it already has the user tags added. Maybe that's related? Perhaps a "feature" to prevent tags from notifying people when they're quoted? So it looks like this:

No. That's what I was doing.Question -- if you switch to BBCode mode:

and setup your post, then switch back (same button) do notifications work?
It was working at one point, I think we got rid of it@Alu
Does this still work?
edit: looks like it doesn't
I could have sworn we could do that despite the many name changes.

That sounds about rightPretty sure that’s one that took a shit when an update pushed through for either that add-on or XF. I wanna remember everyone noticing and then a collective “oh well, Alu still sucks” afterwards.
Sorry, you're going to need to remember what my name is on any given day.@Alu

It's been this one for a while though, so you've got a chance.
