Half-stealing Benzine's idea from the other thread. Wanted to say "Top 10" or something but I'm struggling to come up with my own answers, and I figure we can get more specific and start ranking Pokémon games, gens, starters, Eeveelutions, etc. too if we want. Here's the closest I can get to a Top 10 for the creatures themselves:
1. Haunter
Favorite Pokémon for pretty much as long as I can remember. Loved the short stint when he joined Ash in the anime. Seemed like a fun little goofball to have around while also looking cool as hell. Always thought this dude had a better design than Gengar even though most seem to prefer the latter.
2. Tyrantrum
Big ass T-Rex you can ride around with a nice color scheme as well.
3. Torracat
Cool cute fire cat. It's a shame that he eventually stands up and turns into that Tony the Tiger furry bait, but I guess the heel wrestler concept is cool, so it could be worse.
4. Duskull
Another one that I wish had evolved differently. Dusclops and Dusknoir look almost nothing like it, and I wish it had kept the grim reaper look to it. Dusknoir has grown on me a bit, but I still think Dusclops is pretty lame.
5. Charizard
Such a popular choice that a lot of people are sick of Pokémon catering to Charizard fans, but if I see a dope ass dragon as a kid of course I'm gonna like it. The mega evolutions and such that they added have only made him better.
6. Falinks
I just think they're neat. If you haven't seen them before, all 6 of these little Kirby guys are one Pokémon that march together in a line. Fairly recent addition.
7. Toedscool/Toedscruel
Quite possibly the stupidest line of Pokémon they've ever made, and yet if you're like me you'll fall in love with it the first time you see this doofy fuck sprint by you in the latest game. Toedscool is funnier, but Toedscruel isn't as ugly and still looks pretty dumb when it hops around. I probably prefer the latter, but I couldn't not bring up the pre-evolution.
8. Luxray
Okay here's where things get hairy. I can't actually say whether Luxray truly deserves his own spot here because there are so many other good ones to choose from, but he's 8th today because I've always thought they were pretty cool.
I was about to put Wailord here next. But then I almost replaced him with Wishiwashi's school form, another giant sea creature. But the more I think about it, the harder the decision becomes between everything on the giant list I made. So, number 9 and 10 is a toss-up between all of the following: Wailord, Wishiwashi, Lugia (was easily one of my favorites when he was new), Jirachi, Dedenne, Galvantula, Regigigas, Giratina, Zangoose, Leafeon, Alolan Marowak, Solgaleo, Alolan Meowth, Shiinotic, Archen, and probably many more depending on how I'm feeling on any given day. There's too many of these little bastards to keep track of these days. I can't believe we're on Gen 9 right now.
