He'll always be the Prince of Darkness. No one will ever have the impact on metal like him and Black Sabbath did. I'm glad he got that one last gig under his belt. You could tell how much it meant to him to say goodbye under his terms.

Honestly I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did with how bad he seemed over the past several years. I'm glad he did though. I saw him live in 2003 and 2004, and those were some amazing shows.

It's wild that he made it out of the 80's if we're gonna go down that road. That man did enough drugs to make Hunter S. Thompson and Timothy Leary look like boy scouts.

Rest easy, Ozzy, and thank you for a lifetime of amazing memories.

Right? When I started playing guitar, some of the first riffs I learned spanned his career in Black Sabbath with "Sweet Leaf", "Paranoid", and "N.I.B.", and then I worked my way into Randy's time with him playing through "Crazy Train", and ultimately ended up diving into the Zakk Wylde stuff like "No More Tears". That doesn't even touch on the dozens of other bands that he paved the way for and shared the stage with.

Thinking about that night when Randy died and he could easily have been on that plane...nevermind the drugs. But also his binge after "leaving" Sabbath...the man making it this far is just amazing.

Gotta' learn Sabbath when you're starting out, Iommi always gets overlooked as a guitarist because the riffs are "simplistic," but they're so fucking iconic. Randy, though, he was next level, absolute legend on guitar! Zakk Wylde is an incredible guitarist, but also a showoff, lol, just needs to tone it down a little bit. Love him, though. Love Ozzy so much, though. His music's going to live on forever no matter what.

For real. A lot of people don't realize how many times we came close to losing him before we actually did.

Iommi is actually one of my favorite guitarists, because I was nursing ligament damage in my middle and ring finger when I was starting to play. Naturally, with him having damaged his fret fingers, I gravitated towards his handling for inspiration. The grit he had to continue playing after doctors told him he wouldn't be able to is exactly what everyone should strive to have.

So true. The man's had so many brushes with death before this.

Definitely agreed, he fought through just to be where he is, and he made such a huge impact on the world with some truly iconic riffs. Perseverance is key!
