I am an unapologetic Beatles stan, nothing comes close and love that we got a new song!
For those who dont know, there were three songs given to the remaining 3 in the 90's from Yoko Ono (John's wife) from an old tape. Two of them were cleaned up and released on anthology. Now and Then they couldnt get right due to the audio quality.
After working on Get Back, Peter Jackson let them know he had the technology to clean that up and here we are
I really like it, it is very much a 70's John Lennon song, but also feels like a Beatles song. They did a great job and Im glad they kept the tracks that George worked on in the 90s as they tried to make this song happen so that all 4 could be a part of this track.
Of the 3 songs they cleaned up and worked on, it's in the middle. Real Love was the standout and one of the best Beatles/John song, but Now and Then is still pretty great. Free as a Bird was solid
