so there's a new manga that has become very popular over the last year and some people are calling the replacement for JJK and I can definitely see why it's not that far into the story (56 chapters as of when I'm making this thread). if you don't know what Kagurabachi here is a brief synopsis.

It is about a man named Chihiro whose father is a legendary sword smith that made Six enchanted blades. one day Chihiro's father is killed by a group of sorcerers and the six swords are stolen. years later Chihiro sets out with a secret seventh enchanted blade in order to take revenge on the people that killed his father.

premise sounds basic and probably edgy and it is for sure but even myself being 20 chapters in I like it so far I do see some similarities to other manga/anime I'll probably put those in a separate post because I don't want this first one to be all spoilers lol. anyway wanted to make this thread just because of how big this manga is getting even if it's just me talking to myself if nothing else

I'll take a look at it. I've slowly been reading more manwhas than mangas though. Maybe it'll keep me amused.

I'll get back here once I'm in a bit.

so just some thoughts after being 30 chapters into Kagurabachi and there will be spoilers

So I'm seeing some similarities to other Manag/anime like i said before not that it's stealing or anything probably just inspiration more than anything else but some things are kind of funny
1. the magic users are called sorcerers like in Jujutsu Kaisen obviously that's not exclusive to that but it's funny that what many people are calling the replacement for JJK is also calling their magic users that
2. the first arc is very similar to the Overhaul/Eri arc from My Hero Academia
3. there is a secret organization that doesn't trust the main character and sends someone who is extremely powerful after him like in JJK.
4. Chihiro at one point with his sword gets an ability called Shred that reminds me of Byakuya’s scatter from bleach on just a smaller scale

So I meant to post in this thread after I finished the second story arc of Kagurabachi and then kind of forgot and then got distracted with other things whoops. Anyway still reading Kagurabachi and it's still good so some spoilers

so the Rakuzaichi arc was a good follow up to the sojo arc it gives Chihiro a new friend in Hakuri, it also shows that he does have to think a little bit and actually plan out things instead of just going in swords? blazing. we learn a little bit more about the swords and why after they were made and used in a war they were locked away. also why the main bad group wants the swords. also we meet the leader of the hisaku (evil group).

Hakuri when we first meet him kind of sucks due to not being able to use his family's sorcerer powers he gets beat up a lot and basically becomes a damsel at one point. but he gets better later and even when he was a damsel it was to have Chihiro have to make a plan to get out of the situation that they were in.

as for the current arc it's also pretty good, a little bit slower paced than the others but that's fine I know there are manga fans that in least battle manga just want all action all the time and don't really care for the story or slower parts. but this arc found a way to subvert expectations that even if I'm mentioning spoiers I won't spoil this one because I did not see that coming at all. and it's best o read it without knowing anything about it
