Movies Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Went and saw this yesterday and I ended up really liking it.

Is it as good as Raiders or Crusade? Of course not, those are 5/5's and all time greats, but it's a very solid 3.5/5 for me

Probably Ford's best acting in a Indy movie. My only real complaint is his voice when he is de-aged. The de-aging looked pretty good to me.

Anyone else see it?

Wife and I are gonna see it in the next couple days. Shame it's bombing, but movies with inflated budgets are bound to.

I'm not sure about this one. I loved Harrison Ford when he portrayed Indiana Jones in the 80's but now he's 80 years old. I'm sure he's quite fit to do some of the action scenes but I don't have much confidence. I also don't like when so many years have passed in between. Because I forget the storyline, I feel I have to re-watch the older ones.
What is everybody's opinion? Would you re-watch the older ones as well to get a feel?

I think you're fine not re-watching though Raiders and Crusade are two absolutely amazing movies and worth your time

I really enjoyed it. The campiness felt relevant and fun and not world-breaking. There was a fun villain that was actually a nazi, which is the brand of villain indy fights best. The de-aging looked good, sounded okay, and almost felt necessary. Overall it's a solid movie. I was entertained.

Probably heresy but I've never seen an entire Indiana Jones movie. I've seen a few scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark but that's it.

I have no idea why... do any streaming apps have the old movies? I probably should watch them, I do like Harrison Ford quite a bit.
I would imagine Disney+ has it

I remember watching them when they first came out but wasn't sure if we could watch the new one as a stand-alone. Thank you for your reply :)
