If someone dropped money?

If I physically saw the individual drop it, I’d return it, no hesitation.

If I didn’t see anyone drop anything, which was common while trudging through apartment complexes in the middle of the night working, finders keepers. Money reflects the headlights back to you a little differently than other paper, so I began to spot it pretty easily. Usually, it was only a couple $1’s or a $5, but on one rare occasion when I was broke as hell two days before pay, I found a $100.

I'd return it to them. Never know if it's something they'll need to simply be able to get by and feed their kids or something.
This. I'm very much in this world, $20 is a significant amount of money for me right now, the difference between feeding or not feeding my mother and myself (I always feed her, but I go days where I won't eat because I can't afford anything and the shopping has run dry) so I can't see my way to taking from someone that needs it.

I’ve returned it for the same reason people have mentioned, especially if I saw it fall.

My wife found an envelope of about $600 on the street but no one was around so she picked it up. Someone came up to her a short while ago and asked if she found an envelope with the exact amount in it, and my wife returned it, because that’s what decent people do
