Halloween Costumes

I realized there's about a month to go until Halloween so I'm curious; any of you already working on costumes for yourself/kids?

My son is suddenly into Spider-Man, and my daughter Spider-Gwen, so they asked to be that. My older son isn't big on superheroes, but digs Into The Spiderverse so he's going to do Miles Morales Spider-Man.

Easy enough to order from Target.



My quandary is in what I want to do to accompany them. Do I just try to find a Symbiote Spider-Man to add another to the set, do I try to do a villain, something unrelated?

It's the first year they're all trying to do the same thing, so my prior "inflatable dinosaur" costumes don't feel like they'll cut it. Unless I did an inflatable Spider-Rex.

I've started a new group, which I'm calling the VMG. Stands for "very magnificent garbs". I declare myself supreme leader of this group.

Our first act is to force Ben to wear the Spider-rex costume.

Ugh, it's $60. That's an investment for something I'll wear once. I at least expect my kids to want to dress up on theirs to play, but I'm not about to do work meetings in these.

Really? All in on inflatable Spider-Rex and not another Spider-Bloke? Though by my earlier logic I'm not likely to wear a Spider-Man costume often... Hanging upside down messes with my blood pressure too much for extended bedroom use.

While I would do it in person too, I'm not driving 4 hours to Maine, working an 8 hour shift and then driving 4 hours back just to facilitate that, unless you pay far more than just the cost of costume.
