Guess the Video Game Music

If enough people show interest I will get this game started

I spoke a little with Crystal and she is fine if we host some .wavs, they are NOT the exact original soundtrack but will sound similar

Here is how it will work:

It will not work like the screenshot thread. Because of the nature of this, I will be the one to post the songs
We will keep a running score, and after some length of time or number of songs, the winner will be announced and the score will reset if we keep going with it
I want you to guess BOTH the name of the game and the name of the song, so make sure you look up the soundtrack
You get one guess in between my update posts
Make your official guess in bold so I can easily see the guesses
I will upload tracks that gradually have more and more instruments added to the song.
If you get it right away, that will be 10 points.
After that, 7 points.
After that, 5 points.
After that, 3 points.
After that, 2 points.
AT ANY TIME you can say the name of the series only (make this in bold still), but you will only get one point and someone else can still post with the full game and soundtrack name. That person will receive the points minus one.

How does this sound? Anyone in? @Ben @Jon @TD @Smacktard @VashTheStampede @Kat @Crystal @Crazy Jamie @Quagmire @Fool's Requiem @dimmerwit @A Vaguely Ambiguous Username @shortkut @Nae'blis @Jawneh @canadaguy (tagging people I see guessing from the screenshot thread)

I have no idea how you're going to do this, but it sounds awesome and I want in.
I'd assume just attaching the wav to the post. They're not going to be too big in filesize so I agree with Crystal that it won't be an issue.

As long as they're not set to autoplay, which I think by default it won't, having multiple on one page should be fine too.

Also, yeah I'll play.

She said she's going to isolate instruments from the tracks and gradually introduce more instruments until people guess the answer. Or, that's how I understood it, anyway.

Oh, I'm dumb and shortkutted over the rules.

Could be midi files and she can just isolate each instrument track. That's the only format I could think would keep them separated (like the Offspring)

Or I could've misunderstood and she meant she's starting with tracks with few instruments, and introducing more tracks with more instruments? Either way, it sounds challenging to pull off. but i dont know i am bad at technology i do not know computar

Has a real Road Rash vibe to it, though I don't think it's that.
It's definitely racing gamey, but Road Rash had a lot of actual songs in it, IMO, this almost Daytona USA or...something...

...lol, probably shouldn't be offering suggestions in a game where we're competing with each other, but...meh...I don't care if I get it right or not, just having fun listening to the different clues.

Road Rash on the PS1/Saturn did.

Road Rash on the Genesis featured original music made for the games.

literally I don't know how you get that from just bass

oh lord what did I get myself into :faint

obviously I will need to make this 1000% harder *cracks knuckles*
I knew the system right away and like others thought it was familiar. First looked up the Cliffhanger soundtrack, cause we had that game when I was younger. Then I looked up Streets of Rage. I was about to give up but when I saw Vash and Alu say it was familiar, for some reason I started to wonder if SFII had a Genesis port, and then I went through the soundtrack until I landed on Guile's theme 😅

I'm stuck on this song though. It's not familiar at all.

going school supply shopping so I'll leave this here. Still trying to decide post timing, I want to give everyone in other time zones a chance too.

Them saying it's familiar gave you the thought to look up SFII? Wtf 😅

Is this Vash and Alu rn

Speaking of SFII...Youtube thinks I like it now...I don't know who this guy is but this slaps...y'all SFII fans ate good in the 90s???

It's frustrating because I know that I know this, but I can't place it, lol

Is this a clue for anyone??

Trying to think who else might like this thread Crystal...maybe @Bandicoot ?

Anyway, I also want to say, not sure if this is a "hint" but...I won't post anything here that will try and "trick" anyone. It won't be anything too obscure, but the definition of "mainstream" is subjective. Some will be old and a few will be indie, but if it's indie it will be a popular indie.

This one IS a little harder though. Totally possible no one knows it. Maybe hearing the melody will help?
