Fantasy Sports - We should do them

I'm not volunteering to be the commissioner on them, I just want to bring this into a topic of their own. Football is coming up in a little bit, and that would be a good one to get us going again.

What apps/sites would you be willing to sign up for one in? What sort of rule sets would you prefer?


I typically am in ESPN leagues, and at this point almost exclusively do PPR. I'd be happy to join in on a different place though, but do have that preference for PPR at this point. If no one else wants it, I can probably live without it (but will need to adjust my brain for drafting).

We'll make a fantasy Canadian league. In addition to hockey, you also have to pick out maple syrup products and specific Tim Hortons locations.

Can't I believe I forgot to make it a PPR (Perfect Poutine Ratio) league! Obviously you get bonus points for the correct ratio of fries to curds to gravy.

I'm happy to run the EPL league if people do want to play.

Does anyone have access/screenshot to what the scoring was under the old NFL fantasy comp we had here? I know we did IDP which I preferred over Team defense but it does make it harder for rookie players.

Yeah it's the best scoring system and from my experience the most accessible across PC and mobile

First match is 11th August (GMT+0), given it's not a draft league I could open the league now and you'd have until 2 hours before the first game to select a squad.

You can do draft leagues in EPL but I have found those less enjoyable, though if people would prefer that I could run that

If there is an appetite for NFL Survivor or Unsurvivor I would be interested in those. Back in the day we used to do those + pick 'em, spread, and player challenge

I'd be happy to be a number to round out the NFL fantasy league if you need it, but I'm ok passing on that as well.

I used to Commish a few dynasty/keeper fantasy football leagues, but 3-4 years ago I stopped following football as much. I also used to be in the GWFL.

If someone starts one up and you're looking for people. I'd join.

We currently have enough for a weak US football league, baseball isn't far behind.

Getting to 10-12 would be optimal.

I would be 100% in on anything NFL for the fall. It's either than or downloading some gambling app since MA legalized it this year. I'd rather not spend money, though.

I could be convinced to participate in a NFL one, but only in a for fun league. I don't really like the prospect of gambling.

I'm in a paid Dynasty/Contract league and I have commish'd a keeper league for now the 7th year. Those are the only paid leagues I'm in but I will always join more for fun.

Just now seeing this, but I'm in a Yahoo league, and Shohei Ohtani is two separate players: one is a batter and one is a pitcher. I had both of them a couple years ago when he had his first huge year as both, which was awesome.

Yep. This year I have Shohei Ohtan (Batter), and he can only be used in a utility spot on offense; only his batting stats count. Another guy has Shohei Ohtani (Pitcher). and he can only be used as a pitcher; only his pitching stats count.
