I know there was another thread about this, but I can't figure out how to turn off email alerts for threads I have posted in. I have been through my profile a couple of times, and even though every email setting is unchecked, it seems like I'm still getting them. Would anyone be able to help point me in the right direction to ensure I don't receive any emails?

This should be what your settings look like to receive no email notifications:



If your settings are identical to this and you still receive emails, let me know and I’ll log into the admin panel and manually check your settings.

That seems the be the same as what I’m seeing on my profile (except that I turned off the current activity item)

I just checked all of your settings, and I’m not seeing anything indicating why you’re still receiving emails.

The only thing that is coming to mind is that *maybe* you’re still receiving them for threads you subscribed to prior to disabling emails, which doesn’t make sense to me because that wasn’t even an issue in older forum softwares.

@Crystal , am I missing something here that’s a XenForo exclusive problem?

I just checked all of your settings, and I’m not seeing anything indicating why you’re still receiving emails.

Your explanation would make sense because I just received an email for another thread that I started posting in weeks ago, but I didn't receive one for either of your responses to this thread. Maybe there's a way I can manually unsubscribe from the other threads.

Yeah, I started digging myself to see if my theory held water and that’s really all I can come up with since there seem to be separate subscription settings on a per-thread basis, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if that would override user preferences… even if just in a glitch scenario.

You can manually unsubscribe from the threads still emailing you, or alter your notification preferences in those threads. Why it would ignore the no email settings, though, is a bit beyond me. I'll look into this more tonight when I have some free time

I can confirm that you still get the notifications you had in your settings at the time you watched the thread. If you change your settings, you'll need to unwatch to turn those settings off. I had that issue for a bit and just gradually unwatched more as they came up.

Alright, @Spiner202 , it looks like my suspicions were correct… but it’s not a bug, just it functioning as “normal”, even if it doesn’t make sense to me.
