I do also like features at other forums that show your quoted message in a different color in the posts itself. That would be helpful to me since I usually don't know what my username is for sure.

Yup. Basically a highlighter for when you're scrolling through a page that lets you know "I this person is responding to me"

No strong opinion either way. I think everything kind of works as-is, though I would be lying a little if I said I didn't miss the alternating colors for posts and quotes being a little brighter than either. Mostly for nostalgia reasons.
And everything not being bland white, 'cause my eyes just don't do dark themes in their old age.

I don't see the point in making the first post a different color. It's already obviously first.
