Hi all!

Just watched the movie in theaters yesterday.

I wasn't a fan. I really enjoyed the other two but somehow this one just didn't feel quite right? A lot of the dialogue felt too cheeky and forced. I don't know what's wrong with me because everyone I know who has watched it is saying it's one of the best Marvel movies they've seen in awhile. I mean.. I know the last few ones have been weak but this one being one of the best? 🤨

I personally found the story lacking, but I thought comedically this was the best of the three.

Seeing characters like Jennifer Garner's Elektra, Wesley Snipes' Blade and the thankfully never happened Channing Tatum's Gambit was a funny touch to me. With other big names doing voices like Blake Lively, Matthew McConaughy and Nathan Fillion... I found it all amusing. And a lot of the jokes were amusing in my eyes, but that is 100% in the eyes (ears?) of the beholder.

I enjoyed the comedy a lot (besides for the few jokes that were woke-related; those kind of fall flat for me since it's pop culture politics shit) although it didn't really do much for the MCU besides for bringing Wolverine over to the main timeline of shit happening. I'm a big fan of Loki and I really like the Variants stuff they introduced, so I'm like all for this thing they're doing where they pick characters from past adaptations and bring them in or just show them off for a bit before they get absolutely destroyed. I think the TVA and that plot thread from Loki is great and SHOULD be more apparently in the movies than they really are considering how integral it is to the state of the multiverse at the moment.

Lowkey I kinda hope the Avengers get shaken up a bit and Wolverine ends up replacing Captain America as the leader (not kicking him out or taking his title, just becoming the de-facto leader) because I honestly just really like Wolverine and Logan and hope he can really kick ass in the MCU now that he's here. I'm not really super into these super heroes that aren't really super heroes but are just guys with tech or are just smart (looking at you Black Widow and the new Captain America (yes I know he becomes super strong but that's just a macguffin to let him replace Steve Rogers)) so Wolverine (and Deadpool) just being legitimate badass mutants with super regeneration is awesome and I hope they play with it more and do some crazy shit later.

This isn't really accurate.

Deadpool was offered a spot in the main timeline (Earth 616) at the start of the movie. That's where all the Avengers are. Deadpool, Logan (and most of what we've seen in the XMen franchise) takes place on Earth 10005. The events of Logan killed the "anchor being" of Earth 10005, and that's when Deadpool tried to find a replacement for THAT timeline's Wolverine. Which is the events of Earth 10005. The end of Deadpool and Wolverine has the new Wolverine replacing Logan as an anchor being on Earth 10005 and not Earth 616. All this to essentially say Deadpool and Wolverine are not in the main timeline (yet?). In fact no mutants are excepts Ms. Marvel (who was introduced as a mutant in her series) and technically Scarlet Witch (who was technically retconned as a mutant in Dr. Strange 2).

Ryan Reynolds has said there is a good chance Deadpool and Wolverine is the final movie for Deadpool. And the ending sort of puts a bow on the characters' stories. Not saying they won't do more, as money talks. But they are both unlikely to fit in with the "New Avengers" that Marvel is headed to with younger leads like Spiderman, Shuri's Black Panther, Iron Heart, Ms. Marvel, etc.

You're good man. I watched it too and it was THE most hilariousness I've seen in A WHILE. I loved it when they fucked hard like D-Pool said about how the car looks like it f's hard and after they got through stabbing the shit out of each other, Logan's passed out and Deadpool is wrapped up in a bunch a' seat belts 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I enjoyed it. It was the weakest of the 3 plot wise, but humor wise was funnier than the second

my issue with the plot was that it did nothing to help with the future of the MCU. All it did was keep the old Deadpool universe alive.

Also, no indication on how Deadpool went between the 616 universe and the current universe, unless that was the point where they branched. If that’s the case, then mutants have always been there

I enjoyed the call backs to the various other characters and the meta jokes with Jennifer garner and Wesley snipes. I also like that they saved X-23 but I was hoping she would come to the main MCU because I loved her portrayal in Logan

Not really true. Kevin Feige already pretty much confirmed the idea of anchor beings is going to play a huge role moving forward. In particular in why RDJ is coming back as Victor Von Doom in the Fantastic Four movie. It also confirmed that the X-Men exist on a different world than 616 and that the 616 versions haven't become known yet. Also confirmed anchor beings can be replaced to save timelines and that the TVA is a huge part of the story moving forward.

He never went to 616 other than to talk to Happy Hogan. Pretty sure he said after being turned down from the Avengers by Happy, he went back to 10005 and destroyed Cable's device. He always fully existed on 10005 with the X-Men.
