Am I talking about @Boots ? No, that would be Die Boote
Das Boot is a German film about a U-boat crew during World war 2. It is utterly fantastic. I forgot how great it is. It is tense, it will make you feel claustrophobic and on the edge of your seat. It is the most intense film I have ever seen. It keeps it up the whole film. The music score is also phenomenal.
This may not be a traditional horror film, but it depicts the horror of war so well I can't think of it as anything but horror.
There are a lot of versions of this film, but 3.5 hr director's cut is probably the best place to start? And before you go woah, it's the fastest 3.5hrs I've ever sat through. I've seen movies half that length that felt longer.
There is apparently nearly 5hr mini series that was cut down to the film that I want to check out, but I'd start with directors cut.
Who has seen this? I watched it about 15 years ago and decided to re-watch it and forgot just how good it was.
