I turn 34 on Tuesday.
i hope they send me it instead of the gollum game, which my wife and housemates forced me to add to my queue to add an element of russian roulette
I haven't played much since getting into act 3. I'm getting destroyed in most of the side quest areas. Kind of killing my urge to play.
I might just go forth and finish the story next time I sit down with it.
I highly recommend increasing Maelle's relationship level and completing her personal quest, which will take you to a dungeon called The Reacher. This really should have been mandatory story IMO. This will also level you up a bit so you can do more side questing if you wish, but I wouldn't put off the final story area too long.
I've been playing this for about four hours now. The combat is fun but I'm terrible at parrying. I'm lucky if I can even manage a dodge.
Yeah it hasn't really been a problem for me so far, so long as I stay away from those extra strong things that can kill me in a single hit. I'm slowly getting better at dodging but I'm still not reliable enough to attempt parrying in most cases. It sure is satisfying to parry an attack on the entire party and have everybody get a counter attack when I manage to pull it off, though!Im still bad at this, Im too impatient, wasnt much of an issue but end of Act II and the enemies are hitting so much harder now
The sound definitely helps a lot. I couldn't figure it out at all until I realized there was a noise signaling the timing.I also think there is a swish sound you hear when you're supposed to hit parry, problem is Im typically playing with bluetooth ear buds in so I think there is a slight delay there. I usually play when others are asleep and I dont want to miss out on this awesome soundtrack by having the volume low
Im connected to my tv, wonder if would it be better if I connected to the pc instead

Could you maybe use wired earbuds? That might have less of a delay.
Funny, I think the bosses are easier because the fight is longer so it's easier to get into the rhythm of it.The variety of enemy isn't too much so at some point regular encounters become easily parry-able. Problem is the bosses do not get easier.

I found the picto which gives you AP for getting hit! It's been very helpful

Pretty sure Im near the end of Act II, got my ass kicked by the boss, I did get close to beating them stupid fucking ability to completely heal itself.
, I could he wrong about it being near the end but no ideaRenoir a second time
i turned 33 in april should i play this?
This game justified the existence of France
I dunno, that's a big ask of E33.This game justified the existence of France
What about croissants? This game justified the existence of France
I had trouble with that fight, too. The attacks were so hard to time so I took a lot of damage. The next boss I would have died had my backup team not gotten lucky with a gradient attack and stacked foretell.
But yes, you are correct on where you are in Act 2. Enjoy what is coming.
And cheeses.What about croissants?

They are really nicked off the Austrians. What about croissants?

Yeah good point. The game has solid baguette content but not enough croissant action. What about croissants?

Okay I just cracked 1.5M in damage in one hit with Maelle, I think it's time to beat the game now lol.
I'm probably severely over-leveled but oh well, I got into a groove taking down optional enemies and clearing areas. All characters are between 66-71.
I beat it like a week ago and still can't stop thinking about it
You can get them all in one run, assuming you didn't miss the Mime in the Prologue like I did
I bought and started this last night. Right at the start of Act I. Enjoying it already.
For those who have gone after the achievements, I suspect I'll want to go for them. Do I need multiple playthroughs or can I do them in one? If so, is there anything missable that I can be told about without spoilers? I want to just enjoy the game, but if I can save myself a big chunk of hours without spoiling anything I'm happy to do that too.
Gestral Beaches ensured I don't care about 100%Missed that one too, though I havent beaten any of them and arent planning to go for 100%

I must have missed this too. But if it's in the Prologue that's presumably not difficult to go back and get.You can get them all in one run, assuming you didn't miss the Mime in the Prologue like I did
Act 3 is the only bit of the game I wish they would have taken another run at, from a gameplay standpoint.I didn't like the direction of the story for Act 3. There was a lot of things that got set up that I was intrigued by. Without spoiling, there's a certain type of story direction I've grown to dislike, and this game has it.
Kind of reminds me of FFXIII @The Eye in the Sky! - really cool premise but then needs to tie it all together in the end.
Again just watching the game as a let's play. I bet the gameplay is fun. I also need to watch some sort of lore video because there are some threads I don't understand fully.
