I'm not sure what got me on the path of thinking about lightgun games, but I went down a rabbit hole of why they fell out of popularity.
I used to love playing Time Crisis, Point Blank, House of the Dead, etc. and would play the hell out of those still. I think there was some peripheral for the Wii or WiiU that mounted the Wiimote like a blaster, but it's not quite the same.
It seems LCD tvs in general are to blame, as the frame buffer and scaler circuit necessary for driving an LCD panel induces a delay not present on the original, and in particular this makes playing games which relied on a light gun impossible to play.
But then I found a few claiming to work with LCDs, at least through a PC.

Seems Sinden ones are horrible to set up and might have some calibration issues. So Gun4ir might be a safer bet, but they don't have any pre-built ones in stock. I'd be looking at buying all the parts and assembly it myself, which might be cheaper and fun, but I'd still perhaps prefer plug and play...
Anyone happened to have tried either, or any other options, to know how well they work, and whether it's worth dropping ~$200 on one?
