So occasionally I like to tailor my gaming habits around a specific theme. Sometimes its a specific series, sometimes a specific genre.

Lately, for reasons that may be evident if your head isnt buried in sand, I've been getting the urge to take out some fuckin Nazis.

I'm currently getting my Indiana Jones on, after after that I think I may play through the modern Wolfenstein series.

But I've already played those so it might not keep my full attention.

I was hoping you wonderful people could recommend some other games I could play where I get to take out some Nazis, or other fascists perhaps.

Preferably modern games, or standout older games that are easily accessible.

My head immediately goes to older games, but if you're into strategy games at all then Commandos immediately comes to mind. Admittedly not especially accessible though, so Company of Heroes would be the recommendation for something much more accessible. Probably stick to the first and second games.

The only recent series that comes to mind that is both a shooter and accessible is the Sniper Elite games. I haven't played much of them but they're supposed to be very good, though the most recent one may have disappointed people if I remember rightly.

The Sniper Elite games are pretty good but they've plateaued a bit. The latest game (Resistance) is very similar to 5, but playing them both on Game Pass dulls the blow a bit and the multiplayer mode where you invade other people's games is top tier, although there you're actually playing as a Nazi.

I guess thinking about it there aren't many games with such an explicit anti-Nazi theme as something like Wolfenstein. Most WWII shooters would see you killing Nazis, and I was reminded of CoD: WWII which just came to Game Pass (complete with the long term security holes on the PC version that they didn't bother to patch). The only other one that comes to mind is The Saboteur.

Saboteur is a hidden gem!

Also don't forget you can kill KKK members in red dead 2

Anything with "Wolfenstein" in the title.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein: The New Order are the best titles. RoCW should still be on Steam and has always been playable on most computers due to how good the Quake 3 engine is. Hell, the discs I have from 2 decades ago probably still work.

Edit: RtCW is 5 bucks on Steam. 10 if you get the bundle with Wolfenstein 3D and Enemy Territory.

Edit: You already mentioned Wolfenstein.

MoH Allied Assault should still be playable on modern systems, as well. That too uses the Quake 3 engine. Its not on Steam, though. The War Chest edition with both Expansion packs are on EA Play, Xbox Game Pass (on PC), and GOG. 10 bucks on GOG.

Call of Duty and CoD2 are both on Steam, though they're 20 bucks right now, might want to wait on a sale. World at War is decent enough and it started the Nazi Zombies game mode.

I was lazy and asked AI.

Below is a grab‑bag of Nazi‑busting games across genres and platforms, so you can pick the flavor of catharsis that suits you:

1) Over‑the‑top single‑player (and co‑op) shooters

Wolfenstein series – MachineGames' reboot blends Grindhouse pulp with tight FPS gunplay. The New Order (2014) re‑started the timeline; Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (2017) takes the fight to a Nazi‑occupied USA; and Youngblood (2019) lets two players tackle Neu‑Paris together. Expect dual‑wielding, robot dogs, and jet‑powered hammers. (Wikipedia, Diario AS)

2) Cinematic blockbuster WWII shooter

Call of Duty: WWII (2017) – A classic, linear campaign that recreates D‑Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and a full Nazi‑zombie side mode, plus competitive multiplayer if you want PvP on historic maps. (Wikipedia)

3) Tactical stealth‑sniping

Sniper Elite 5 (2022) – Stalk occupied France as Karl Fairburne, set traps, and pull off inch‑perfect X‑ray kill‑cams on high‑ranking Nazis. Large sandbox maps encourage creative approaches or full‑frontal chaos. (Wikipedia)

4) Mass‑scale multiplayer battlefield

Hell Let Loose (2021) – 100‑player combined‑arms fights on huge Western, Eastern and North‑African Front maps. Coordination, logistics, and squad roles matter as much as gunning down Wehrmacht squads. (Wikipedia)

5) Real‑time strategy

Company of Heroes 3 (2023) – Command Allied pushes in Italy and Axis forces in North Africa. Tactical pause lets you queue orders, and the destructible environments make every skirmish feel cinematic. (Wikipedia)

6) Behind‑enemy‑lines tactics

Partisans 1941 (2020) – A "Commandos‑style" real‑time tactics game about Soviet resistance fighters ambushing Nazi patrols during Operation Barbarossa, with a light camp‑management layer. (Wikipedia)

7) Indie resistance management

Through the Darkest of Times (2020) – A grim but powerful strategy/management title following a small Berlin resistance cell from 1933 to 1945. You spread leaflets, sabotage infrastructure, and try to keep your members alive. (Wikipedia)

8) Open‑world guerrilla sandbox

The Saboteur (2009) – An Irish race‑driver aids the French Resistance in a stylized Paris where liberated districts literally burst back into color once Nazi influence is driven out. Think Assassin's Creed meets Inglourious Basterds. (Wikipedia)

9) VR immersion

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond (2020) – Respawn's VR revival drops you into North Africa, Norway and occupied France with motion‑controlled weapon handling and an award‑winning documentary mode featuring real veterans. (Wikipedia)

How to choose?

  • Want pure power fantasy? Jump into Wolfenstein II or co‑op Youngblood.
  • Prefer realism & teamwork? Hell Let Loose scratches that itch.
  • Love tactics & pause buttons? Company of Heroes 3 or Partisans 1941.
  • Crave a narrative about resistance, not just firefights? Through the Darkest of Times.
  • Own a VR headset? Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is your ticket.

Whichever route you take, every game above puts fascists firmly in your crosshairs—happy hunting!

Oh, that reminds me. The Brothers in Arms games might be worth playing if you want more serious shooters with squad based commands.

Earned in Blood and Road to Hill 30 are on Steam for 4 bucks each. Hell's Highway is 10. For some reason, the three game bundle is 20...

I'm surprised the AI didn't pull up those games.
