Acolytes game 2: day 6

The sky hasn't healed since the god stepped through.

The village is a flicker in the ruins — one stubborn flame where hope has not yet guttered out. Smoke still rises from the cities. The stars do not return. Most who survive now kneel or serve, their wills bent to the one who watches from beyond.

But not here.

Here, mages speak in hushed tones behind cellar doors. Old rituals are whispered through cracked lips. Scholars and holy men search ancient texts for a way to undo what was done — to send the god back into the dark.

And they are not alone.

The Acolytes have returned, hidden among the villagers. They smile. They listen. They whisper doubts and feed paranoia. Their task is simple: learn what the villagers know — and stop them before it's too late.


The villagers are not strong. They are not safe.
But they are not ready to give up.

The game began with 4 Acolytes, 1 violent solo, 1 non-violent solo, 1 clairvoyant on the village team, and 9 other villagers. There is no set amount of strong villagers, the limitation is there can not be more than 1 of each (for example, there can't be two Mages). So the number of strong villagers can be anywhere from 1 to 6.

Minimum to witch hunt is 1/2 of the living players, odd numbers are rounded down.

Morning breaks with a hush.





The villagers rise slowly, weary from miracles and murders alike. Yesterday, they watched the paladin Fools Requiem swell to titanic size, holy light pouring from his lantern as he revived the very archer who had once pierced his side. The act was not just powerful — it was forgiveness made flesh.





And now, he is gone.





The paladin's body lies slumped at the edge of the square, the light gone from his lantern. His armor is cracked open at the side, pried apart like a ribcage. A jagged dagger, stained deep red, is still lodged between the plates.





There's no sign of struggle. No witness to the blow.





But you all know what it means. One remains.





One last Acolyte walks among you.

Kut it sucks that FR died but crucial he revived you. I’m gonna be out most of the day so I’ll check in when I can.

I don’t have time to run through the scenarios but if we kill zell today jawneh kills one of us and wins. So we probably need to kill him and try to deal with zell tomorrow. Sadly I’m still on the bounty board so he still likely kills me.

Ants if I can afford that loud potion jawneh skipped on please give it to me

@Ants! question: if Jawneh is acolyte, and he uses the potion now during the day phase, does that mean he cannot kill at night? The description states that they cannot participate in acolyte chat or witch hunts, but @canadaguy stated there was no daytime acolyte chat

Perfect. @Zell 17 who do you think is guilty of being an acolyte: Jawneh or Jon? If we target Jawneh and he is acolyte, he has to use the potion to survive but wouldn’t be able to kill tonight

Birthday parties are weird. Luckily this one is family. A bit of respite right now before the wife and I head to do errands. I'll be not here for a couple hours soon.

Also kut I may not have much left after buying the potion if anything.
As long as we reach the 10 gold threshold, we’re fine. Zell won’t be killing any townies

Jawneh will either be lynched or will use a potion and will not be able to kill. Unless you’re the last acolyte, in which case good game

You have another potion to avoid being killed?

@Jawneh i shot Zell with an arrow. He may want me dead so I don’t shoot him with another. You cannot kill him overnight and he has ways to not be lynched. You can’t align with him

He has a 0% chance of winning if he doesn’t listen to me (no deaths tonight, I get shot and die tomorrow and he gets lynched). He has a 50% chance if he does listen. I know what I’d take.
