The sky hasn't healed since the god stepped through.

The village is a flicker in the ruins — one stubborn flame where hope has not yet guttered out. Smoke still rises from the cities. The stars do not return. Most who survive now kneel or serve, their wills bent to the one who watches from beyond.

But not here.

Here, mages speak in hushed tones behind cellar doors. Old rituals are whispered through cracked lips. Scholars and holy men search ancient texts for a way to undo what was done — to send the god back into the dark.

And they are not alone.

The Acolytes have returned, hidden among the villagers. They smile. They listen. They whisper doubts and feed paranoia. Their task is simple: learn what the villagers know — and stop them before it's too late.

The villagers are not strong. They are not safe.
But they are not ready to give up.

The game began with 4 Acolytes, 1 violent solo, 1 non-violent solo, 1 clairvoyant on the village team, and 9 other villagers. There is no set amount of strong villagers, the limitation is there can not be more than 1 of each (for example, there can't be two Mages). So the number of strong villagers can be anywhere from 1 to 6.

Minimum to witch hunt is 1/2 of the living players, odd numbers are rounded down.

Day will end at or when all living players have skipped.

DAWN — A NEW DAY

The morning fog clings low, veiling the village in damp silence.

Alu is not at the square.

At first, no one thinks much of it — the Clairvoyant often wandered alone, chasing dreams and omens in the dark. But then someone notices the trail of footprints… and the drops of blood that lead behind the chapel.

He is found there. Facedown in the cold mud, his robes soaked through. One hand is still clutching his deck of worn divination cards — the topmost one smeared with crimson.

A jagged dagger protrudes from his back, driven deep, its hilt carved with unfamiliar runes. There was no struggle. No warning.

Only purpose.

The Acolytes struck in the night.

Alu, the Clairvoyant, is dead.

And with him, one more chance to see what lies ahead.

Alas, poor Alu.

@Ants! I want to buy the Talisman from the shop.

On the off chance that they try to get a voting block together, I'll pass it to prevent a witch-hunt on one of our trusted. This might help more tomorrow if we make it that far.

I'm disappointed I overestimated Zell being helpful at night, but oh well. As long as there is a bounty up, he at least can't do his own thing.

I'm leaning towards executing Zell today though. I think the potential usefulness is gone.

Also I'm going to the Cursed Ruins again. It's my home away from home.

You posted a bounty on a villager

With cg dead, like I said yesterday, Zell wasn't going to kill anyone to slowly force the kingmaker. I stand my point to avoid that even if it makes me look bad. Now we can't hunt down Zell as the last two acolytes would win after their next kill.

Now to get to the fun stuff. Take me to  necropolis @Ants! man.

My quest was... Enlightening. Cryptic, but enlightening.

I have reason to suspect I've been fleeced this whole time, and maybe I misjudged @Tommy Boy like I did poor Local.

@Fool's Requiem, this might seem like a wild tangent from where my head has been at the whole game, but... Maybe Jon is full of shit and one of the two remaining Acolytes.

I'm pretty confident Jawneh is one of them too, but between Zell's earlier post and my quest results, I'm rethinking everything.

unfortunately, I was unable to revive kut, but was told that I can try again tonight assuming I survive.

I don't really know what happend where CG still got lynched.

Are we voting Tommy or Zell now?

I still have Loud Voice available for usage.
I am going to go on a limb and believe Ben at this point. Which makes Jawneh and Tommy the last two acolytes. Zell not killing Tommy puts the solo and acolytes in cahoots and best we'll do is tie votes without a potion.

At this point, Ben, FR, we need to band together to have that snowballs chance in hell.

I can't hold a ruse this long. But I wouldn't be shocked if I'm kept alive for the doubt.

I did grave rob Christina last night. Sorry Christina. I was polite about it at least.

Jon destroyed a Wight in day 2. Why would an Acolyte do that?

Also, what the fuck happened to Kat?

She was silenced day 2 and never came back.

But some warped logic of you being the Necromancer and pretending to be the Gravedigger seems like a half-truth you could hide behind...

I'd assume to cast doubt, which worked pretty well.

But I met a flesh prophet on my quest, and got to ask one question, prefaced that the answer would be cryptic. I tried asking if Tommy was an acolyte in this game, but the answer I got was as follows.

"The flock never knew
the wolf was one of them —
not until the teeth."

Now, tell me that doesn't sound like Jon hiding amongst us.

Oh, and I killed Kat technically because she was the Mimic and copying Local. When I killed Local, Kat died too.

I have to still bring it back to yesterday where you came out early in the day to nuke Local. I was thinking about that more and there's a chance Benzine/deadbody made a spear and you got it right away once wighted. Or it was Quagmires. Either or, you haven't given the town much.

But for the sake of curiosity, what did your quest tell you? Gotta give something if you want us to believe you.

God dammit. Ants walked back any implication that it referred to Jon, so now I just don't know.

@Zell 17, why did you claim Tommy is a villager? Whatproof youu got?

@Jon, convince me my trust wasn't misplaced.

@Jawneh, dance for me.

Ok, how's this, @Ben...

@Ants! - I gift all my worldly possessions, gold and items, to the only known townie, Fool's Requiem.

We're not going to have much of a chance and I'm on the bounty today, so Zell is almost certainly going to kill me. But at least Zell isn't getting shit from my dead body.

How would you like me to do that?
...Dance for me?

I don't know. I'm flailing after whack information, but that dusty cunt in the Cursed Ruins chirped up again and decided to give me a different answer.

"He feasts after the chant,
prays beneath no sun.
He is not of the flock."

So... I'm now back to thinking I was right that Tommy is a bad. This seems more explicitly a cryptic answer to my actual question, not implicating Jon just based on his avatar/etc. I don't know what Zell's game is, but as whoever said before he's ultimately playing to his own win conditions.

This helps reaffirm I wasn't wrong with my trust, for sure.

But still dance.

I like that I'm trying to convince you and YOU'RE not guaranteed to be town. :link
Fair, but I'd fall back on the whole "it'd be dumb to spear Local if he was going to die anyway" thing.

I am dumb, but not that dumb.

@Ants!, curious, would Holy Water remove the cursed bounty from Jon?

I've watched you play enough that if you ARE evil, I give you mad respect because you've had me fooled this whole game. I've tried to only help the town, but it'd be a hell of an evil play. I just don't have that level of deception in me. This is probably the longest I've been alive as a good in a while though lol.
