One of the potential outcomes of a Quest is death. Why do you wish death upon us, kut?
When you go on a quest, you're given the option to run away once you see what the enemy is. Running could still result in an injury but never death. You still loose the right to vote that day though.

At the same time, maybe the villagers shouldn't all be "oh shiny" and give the acolytes full control
I dunno, seems like a way to separate those who're thinking about the economy and bettering themselves through hard work, from those lazy illegal werewolves acolytes who don't contribute anything to society.

I keep picturing people running from monsters in the woods and tripping over roots and spraining ankles. Or wearing high heels in a temple and it getting stuck between stones and straining an ankle. So many sprained ankles!
