So, it's been a month since I joined and I've got to say, this revival of the forums has been such a positive force in my life. Not only just catching up with people, but a lot of new things. I've made up with people I had a hard time with in the past, and I'm becoming friendly with people I never really got to know that well back in the day. GameWinners was my primary source of friendship growing up - I had my school friends and my childhood best friend, but I made a so many lasting friendships here. The fact that I'm able to come back here and continue to do that 15 years later is just an incredible feeling.
@Crystal @Mark @Cole : I know you don't like to take credit, but credit is due for really getting this together. Crystal, I know you have always been holding down some sort of the community since it officially "closed", but seriously, your amount of love for this place is so big and it is so appreciated. You have touched many lives, directly or indirectly, with your actions. At times when things are hard for you, I want you to remember all the good you brought this world, and to us here. I am so grateful for your existence and for you. Thank you. Mark and Cole - You two took up the admin role without question, and although it is not nearly as time consuming in the past, it still requires some effort and work on your end. Whether it's testing new shit, messing with permissions daily, tinkering with the wolf forums to allow dead chat - all the little things that wouldn't really be happening at old GW as often, but is super impactful here. Even if you feel like it's no big deal, the fact remains that you have busy lives that you take time out of to put into this place. For that, I sincerely thank you.
@Fire Queen @Zell 17 : Taking up the mantle as GMs for wolf games has been such a fun experience, it feels like the old days and I get so excited to participate. It's no easy task to run the games and to take feedback, and you both have taken everything in stride and made each game a hell of a time. Thank you for taking the time to make sure everyone else is enjoying themselves.
@aura seer @canadaguy @Fire Queen @Kat @shortkut : You all were mods before that it was a no-brainer to slip y'all right back where you belong.
I know that it is way less work now, and some of you just have joke roles, but y'all still contribute to this place and are deserving of a shoutout. There's only a couple hundred of us to moderate, and though you may only be "split bitches" now, you are the best split bitches GW has ever seen! But seriously, thank you for stepping up, as small as the role may be. If anything, it's more symbolic of a past era, and it's nice to see the red names.
For everyone else: I'm looking forward to seeing this place grow, finding more OGW members, and welcoming new faces. I'm thrilled to be interacting with people I never really got close with in the past, and rekindling the tight friendships. I finally check GWF more than Reddit now, it truly feels "like home" again here. I look forward to getting the classic gaming nights together periodically and shooting the shit like always.
I know nobody needs the random praise, but I feel that I speak for everyone when I say: THANK YOU!!!! Love you all!!! GWF!!!
