It was hard to keep up with moderating the traffic when you could only post once a minute. It was so hard to convince Al to get rid of it too. But he couldn't feed the hamsters well enough to keep them alive. I think it was too costly to replace them as often as we were making him.

I don’t even think it was Al that killed that for mods… it might have been us first generation admins, because the smods and up were exempt from it either shortly after Zell and I were added, or right before we were. I wanna remember us using splitting threads as one of the examples for allowing mods to bypass flood control.

You could be right, though I swear that was removed before S-Mods and Admins were a thing.

Smods were around when I registered in October of 2001 and there was flood control all the way up until after I became an admin when Al made the “final” upgrade to a whole new server. Whatever he did to the server after that was after I had already left in 2005, but I know I hit flood control all the way up until I was an smod. That’s one of the reasons I would get roped into helping in C&C, because I could split threads without flood control stopping me.

I know you had a 2000 registration date, but I know you had two different names, so maybe different accounts? I know you had T-Bone with a weird “B” and then you had plain T-Bone.

Should have all been the same account. Just name changed. I had the weird B to start because someone had T-Bone. When they were no longer active, I asked for the regular B. Then I went by "Bone" for a couple months before saying screw it and going by my real name.

I took multiple full years off. If I never did that I probably would have ended up at around 50-60k in posts.
