I just found out that there's such a thing as World Bee Day, and it falls on May 20th. That seems perfect to me for some reason. And apparently they have themes, and this year's official theme is "Bee inspired by nature to nourish us all."

This one will be up until at least August 15th, because of the summer reading program. I messed up badly on the letters, but I figured that because of this years theme, I can get away with it since the flaws make it look more painted-on (which they are anyway).

Heh. I just looked it up right after I posted that and it seems like we do. I felt pretty sure that we did anyway, I just hadn't confirmed it until after I did all this work. lol

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) is a consortium of state libraries and public library systems. Members include all 50 states, along with American Samoa, Cayman Islands, the District of Columbia, Guam, Mariana Islands, and Micronesia (Federated States of). Essentially, it's a group of public library systems working together to provide high-quality summer reading program materials.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
State libraries and public library systems are the main members of CSLP.

Individual public libraries, systems, or groups of libraries can participate if their state or territory is a dues-paying member.

School libraries, tribal libraries, and other entities can participate in CSLP programs and events, but only in partnership with a participating public library.

United States military bases, both within and outside the US, can request permission to use CSLP materials, but they don't pay dues and have no voting rights.
It's from google AI, but whatever.

I suddenly have to make a back-to-school bulletin board. I'm thinking I have black paper and a bunch of white letters already cut out for me by some volunteers, so I could do a chalkboard type of thing.

Any ideas for school/library/chalkboard puns?
Get drawn into a good book.

Highlight your semester with reading.

Take a novel approach to learning.

Get write on target with your research.

My question is, why are most books about middle school?
Because I searched specifically for books in my branches YA collection that were about school and that's what we had a lot of.

You never have to worry about it though, books involve lots of reading so you're pretty safe.
