Does baiting somebody about the wolf chat ever work?

I assume they wouldn't say anything in hopes that it's a red potion and they have another day to confuse the town. There is a possibility there is another red potion out there stuff. I find it hard for Vash to be given it because let's face it, he was target #1 bless him. Maybe Quagmire? Maybe another wolf or the solo non killer person has the other and also not wanting to draw attention.

The alchemist strategy doesn't make logical sense to me. Alu was already given a red potion, and was not going to be a target over Vash. This is an easy peasy kill against a likely unprotected player. I can buy the night 1 black potion hitting a dead person. But to leave Alu alive and not kill two people today seems odd.

Unless the second red potion is also random and Alu drops dead at some point in the day? I don't know the rules.

That said, i came in here to question the validity of the alchemist and then Tommy was murderized. So, I'm back at square one. I'm like the crazy townie with the cork board with pictures and sting pointing to a million places right now.

Also I'd have been notified if I received a second potion and wouldn't just randomly drop dead today. No idea why I wasn't targeted with it. At this point it's an interesting strategy that could be:

I have the ability to find wolves but not the alchemist (they don't kill at night)
I'm halfway dead and could potentially be a waste of a wolf target
Alchemist is hoping I find wolves to be lynched and then kill me a with a red at a later time
