The Boys is one of the few shows I'm actively waiting for a new season of, I really enjoyed it.

Gen V was great too, albeit different and a more serious tone.

new season starts this week and I'm excited for it, I'm really curious on what they do with Butcher
if they cure him or if he does end up dying this season it was confirmed the Boys is ending with season 5 and having the last season without Butcher just seems wrong to me. but who knows obviously Kripke has a plan for how the series will end

I don't think he will die. I think there will probably be some important character death but I think he's a bit too important.

Also some of the reviews out today implied the finale was a bit disappointing and very much a lead-in to series 5, which to me implies that nothing major happens.
i remember people were saying that about last season too. even though there was a couple if major things
Maeve retiring, Ryan going with Homelander, Butcher’s diagnosis. i do think if Butcher lives past this season he and Homelander will kill each other in season 5

So has anyone watched the first three episodes yet? I'm saving them over the next few days just kidding I watched them all straight away lol.

I can't believe I'm writing this but...poor Todd? That was brutal. Well, I guess he was a useful idiot in death as well as life! Also, the intro shot of Homelander was fun.

Sister Sage effectively taking over is fun to watch. I have a feeling even the smartest person in the room won't be able to account for Homelander's instability (see Annika's death). Also, Firecracker having a moral one-up over Starlight was interesting.

And christ, Hughie's plot armour is thick.

Agree about the second part

What was with Sister Sage
and that device we saw on the table when she made a move on the Deep?

Has it? So many fake out and close calls with no major characters dieing. (unless I am forgetting someone)
maybe you're right especially since
they gave Hughie and the boys plot armor basically saying Neumann can't kill them because she'll be outed as a Supe. and I'm sure they'll figure a way to save Butcher but even then I wouldn't say people are safe just because there's one more season

My guess:

She self-lobotomizes at the end of certain days to enjoy the "spoils of life". The device looks like an ice pick tool used by doctors to perform trans-orbital lobotomies. The fact that she's vegging out, acting dumb, and falling for "unintelligent emotions" like hotness level - she definitely makes herself stupid to escape the torture of being so smart. And her supe attributes card shown on one of the screens says one of her side powers is regeneration - meaning she'll wake up good as new. That's my solid, educated guess.

Yeah, I eventually saw that same idea on reddit

Same, once I started seeing multiple people guess that, process of elimination just really confirmed it.

I love that they give us three episodes to binge out, but man, the weeks go by sooooo slow. I try not to wish away time at this stage in life, so I'm just trying to distract myself and get other small projects I've been putting off done to justify "waiting". :wallbash

I saw a theory that Kessler is a figment of Butcher's imagination like his wife since we haven't seen him interact with anyone else. which if this is the case it would kind of make sense since Kessler would be the devil on Butcher's shoulder, and Becca is the angel on his shoulder

100% this is what's going on.

It's also very apparent now that mixing Compound V and Temp V is what creates the "symbiote/tentacle" thing within them. We're right to assume the tumor got juiced with those things and can now somehow come out and protect the host when necessary.

That makes sense since JDM played other characters in 2 other shows similarly 🤔

Fuck dang I'm so ready but I gotta grab coffee and lunch first. I read a lot of good things without spoiling. One that really stuck with me was "season redeeming in only 5 minutes. Very powerful to the point where any frustrations about S4 are gone. Can't wait for S5" Seems this sentiment was shared with many. I didn't have any issues with S4 like the internet did besides the
Hughie rape/SA being a reach too far
, so I can't relate with "season redeeming" - but since I already like S4, I'm sure I'm going to love this finale. I'm sure it's a cliffhanger and everyone is fucked up lol.

Pretty much. I wasnt overly frustrated with S4, but it did feel very stagnant knowing that nothing major would really happen until a finale if at all, and then in season 5

besides the

Are you talking about
With Ashley and Tek Night, or with fake Starlight? Or both?

I agree that a lot of season 4 felt like the show was spinning wheels.

The finale was good though. A lot of story theads nicely set up. I'm maybe a bit disappointed that the shapeshifter was so easily dealt with.

Yeah that was weird, did
starlight just choke her to death? Kind of boring. I could see shapeshifter coming back, but fully dead.

Ya all of it pretty much. Guy hasn't caught a break yet.

Agreed. Very excited for S5 though.
