I've been playing a buttload of games this year compared to like any of year in my life and I don't think I've ever beaten this many games in a year so I wanted to talk a little bit about it. Here's all the stuff I got through this year:
Super Mario Sunshine (Switch)
Spyro the Dragon (PSX)
Spyro the Dragon: Ripto's Rage (PSX)
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne (PS5)
The Last of Us 2 (PS4)
Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX)
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War (PSX)
Five Nights at Freddy's (PS5)
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (PS5)
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (PS5)
Snatcher (SegaCD)
Tactics Ogre Reborn (Switch)
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GCN)
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Switch)
Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected (Switch)
Tears of the Kingdom (Switch)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS3)
L.A. Noire (PS5)
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC-Switch)
Pokemon Trading Card Game (GBC-Switch)
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon (PS5)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Switch)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
Lies of P (PS5)
FAITH: The Unholy Trilogy (PC)
Final Fantasy XVI (PS5)
Final Fantasy XII (Switch)
Inscryption (Switch)
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly (PS2)
Control (PS5)
Alan Wake Remaster (PS5)
Alan Wake 2 (PS5)
Final Fantasy XI (PC)
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Out of all of these, here are the ones that really blew me away: Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Snatcher, Tactics Ogre Reborn, MGS2, Armored Core VI, MGS4, Lies of P, FAITH, Fatal Frame II, Control, Alan Wake 2, and Chrono Trigger.
Those are a lot of games but man I played so many GOOD games this year. I love how even after all of this time, there's such good gems out there. Even among new games in a world where I'm disheartened by the way game design is going, there's really good shit out there like Lies of P, Armored Core VI, and Alan Wake 2. Gaming has never been better
