Discuss your new techniques for staying young.

I use hims by spraying it at the top of my head and routinely do this thing called "running." Trying to not look like a middle aged dad before I even become a dad.
I’ve let nature run its course. The hair on my head is thinning, so it gets shaved. The hair on my face thickened over the years, so it does not. I like to keep it simple. My physical appearance has changed minimally over the years, just more lines on my face and way more grays.

I've got a beard now as well. And recently, before trimming it for my grandfather's funeral, my grandmother came up and said "WOW. You have a lot of gray hairs in your beard!"

I saw one of my little cousins back on Father’s Day, and that’s the first thing they said to me… “Holy shit, you’re going gray” Well, no shit? You spend the years I spent getting shot at for little green rectangles of paper and you’d age a little bit, too.

I'm balding too. Long gone are my curly locks of ginger hair, replaced with a solar panel.

The moment you make the realization that you can save SO much money on shampoo and haircuts is liberating. Embrace the bald.

Also it's funny that you're 29 when my old forums account would be turning 23 in November.

Yeah, mine would be 22 come October 1st. User ID 31984… of what would eventually end at around what @Crystal? You were among the last to see the admin panel.

Mine would be turning...18 I think

Yours would have been able to buy a pack of smokes back then… but not now. Baby.

Mark, haven’t you had a cleanly-shaven dome for a long time now?! Certainly that is the image I had in my mind!

There’s no question that I look older, but I feel about the same, if not more energetic than my teen self. I used to “hate exercise”, but these days I’m a reasonably dedicated runner. I also do a variety of “anti-social” things (as seen by society) which surely labels me as some sort of young delinquent… or so I tell myself. My neighbours definitely give me weird looks, send help ;_;

Yes ma’am, I’ve shaved my head since I was about 15. The only thing that has evolved is the facial hair… from goatee all the way to the monstrosity I’ve got going on now.

During the last 20 years, I went from looking like I'm 12 to looking like I'm 12. But if you squint closely, my 6 gray hairs give away being 34.

I must sleepbathe in the blood of young maidens at night or something. :confused2

I hear that in today’s world… you can make a killing selling jars of young maiden blood bathwater.

I don't feel old. Quoting cartoons and playing video games makes you feel young even when you have kids and manage people at work.

Mentally? I’m good. For the most part. Physically? I’ve put my body through hell, it’s catching up to me, but I still manage to stay in decent shape. I’m just sore… man… and tired…

I have two herniated discs from repeatedly dead lifting a disabled person (more on this in a future post). the discs cause a fair amount of pain in both my legs (I fight through it, I still walk a lot).

my left knee was surgically repaired 4 times in my late teens (sports injury), and is not and will never be 100%. and I currently think my RIGHT knee also has a torn meniscus from over compensation of my other knee and back.

I've done a lot of drugs, I still smoke, I like crappy food. and I am in SURPRISINGLY good physical condition. my doctor is often surprised that I'm as healthy as I am.

but high level sports, drugs, and other courses of my life have given me more PHYSICAL issues then I'd like at this stage of my life.

TBH people think I must have access to the fountain of youth. Despite being in my early 30s, I get carded all the time! So going out of my way to seem even younger seems counter-productive to me :D But yeah, damn we're all old. All the consoles, etc. that we used to play on are now collector's items, and if we try telling kids about our early gaming experiences they just roll their eyes like we're grandpa telling stories from back in their day!

Just before COVID hit I lost ~50 lbs and now I have an adorable niece and nephew of 2 and 4 respectively that I spend a bunch of time with, and they keep me active. I'm constantly crawling around on the floor, picking them up, tossing them about. Really helps lol.

Congrats on both events, losing weight is a great thing, and there's no question that kids are a great way to keep active, lol. Kids don't have an off switch!

Managing a team of 18 who are all 5 - 10 years (or more!) younger than I makes me realise I have no idea what the linguistics of the modern day are

I've said this before (just not here) and I'll say it again (here) - even though it wasn't really a thing when most of us were kids, the big key is
s u n s c r e e n ☀️

(Especially if you have tattoos, are out in it for more than 10min at a time, are mole-y, etc.)

I have like 4 different kinds of sunscreen that are just kept out in the open, including one specially made for tattoos.

I think I'm the youngest here? 29 woooo. GW me is 31 though. (Tut tut)

More about me.

Still live with my mum. I have disabilities and mental health issues and getting my own home is a NOPE. I have 2 cats who I adore.

I do want to move out despite this, but UK housing is terrible.

I have about 16 tattoos and a few piercings.

I work at McDonald's part time and when I'm not working or gaming, you can find me swimming in the local pool.

I may look younger than I am, but I FEEL older than I am. The inactive lifestyle is not good on the body.
I'm in this post and I don't like it.

Everyone always assumes I'm like 10-12 years younger than I am (40) when I meet them but I feel pretty rough most days, for various reasons but sedentary lifestyle outside of work is a major contributor.

Don't need sunscreen if you avoid being outdoors...

Living in New York City is allowing me to live my 30s while feeling like I'm going back through my 20s except with actual money. I'm 33 now but nowhere near "settling down". I feel massively young riding bikes around every day, but then feel pretty old when I go to work. I work on the 34th floor of the World Trade Center, so going to or from work always feels like I'm one of those old-timers on Wall St. with the suits and the trains and the rushing around. But other than that, life feels way "younger" here.

You’re a madman. That’s all.

I spent a lot of time working in different boroughs up there popping cars, and spent some time wandering around getting into stuff on my free time. I hate the traffic. A lot. Sat on the GW for two hours the first time I went up there… fucking construction on the EZpass lanes at the time.
