Welcome to ValhallAnts! (Acolytes 1 dead thread)

OK, so it looks like the bad guys have targeted the clairvoyant for death on the very first night. And that was the only speak to the dead role in the game.

And there are no other players marked for death in this first night phase, so it looks like it might be a little while before anybody joins here. And since the player who had clairvoyant is going to be switching roles with the dead body, that means that there won't be any speaking with the dead role for the rest of the game even with the possibility of revival because nobody is currently playing that role anymore. Lol.

@Mark it seems like @VashTheStampede is requesting access lol

So one thought I'm having for revision is that the Archer needs to be nerfed. He's loosely based on the Bully, so I gave him 4 arrows just like the Bully had 4 rocks.

The problem with that is...there are plenty of other opportunities for players to get an Injury, giving the Archer the potential to have FOUR kill shots if they only aim for people already injured. That leaves him way OP. So next go-around I'm thinking I'll give him just 2 arrows instead of 4.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this game so far. I had hoped that by Day 2 they would calm down with the questing and get back to the basics of Wolf, but with the exception of FR and Jon sharing their information there's been basically none of that and nobody seems interested in finding out who is who.

It's fun as hell so far but people seem a little TOO interested in questing and not interested enough in the lynching or making sure the town wins. I'm thrilled that people are enjoying the new features of the game this much, but also I didn't want the game to move so far in that direction that it stops becoming a Wolf game. So before the next game, I need to find a better balance in some way where it still has the new stuff but still feels like Wolf.

I'd like to point out that people don't get notified when they're given access to a thread unless tagged after the fact.

kut said he was a druid. I believe him because of his insistence on trying to quest until death and I just can't see someone claiming that role on the first go.

I wanted to wait to use my kill before questing and fighting, but the desire to beat a level 5 and lord over everyone else was too strong.

So my second post in the thread where I tagged everybody didn't give a notification?

That is good to know.

What's even funnier is the acolytes were briefly considering killing him last night, and he's already a role that they can't kill at night so with your protection, their attack would have failed doubly if they had gone through with picking him over canadaguy.

Also, the fact that John as the vampire Hunter checked him last night too, and so you are both vouching for him. And smacktard was asking if he could give his love potion to shortkut when he was in danger of being lynched. Everybody thinks the guy is innocent 🤣

I'm thinking a simple way to place a limit on people overdoing the questing would be to say that you can't go on a quest two days in a row. It would make sense because you would need a day of rest between quests, and people will probably still do it a lot on the first day since they rarely ever Lynch on day one anyway, so by day two they would probably calm down a bit and focus more on the regular wolf side of things.

Yeah, that’s an unavoidable issue with the permissions, because it won’t push out a “new” notification after an individual is granted access.

The fact that you have people leaning into it is a good thing, though. I’ll tell you the same thing I told Jon when he was working Neon Nexus the first time… it’s those little distinctions between the games that’ll make it stand out in the crowd.

Yeah, balancing/tweaking it later is the easy part, what matters is that they're enjoying it so much, so I call that a success.

For real… they’re a picky bunch, so, nailing a first round success with just a handful of minor issues isn’t too hateful at all. It took me a while of paying attention to some of games to grasp just how many moving parts there are, it’s gotta be easy to miss details.
