In this game, you aren't voting to lynch anyone, you're voting to send them to jail. The person jailed is not immediately removed from the game, but instead is "put on trial" during the next day phase. Once jailed, they cannot use any special abilities until released from jail (be that by early release or being found Innocent). However, when on trial, you can feel free to role claim as much as you want to try and save your bacon. Otherwise, I ask that you refrain from any role claiming. Hinting, however, is allowed.

The minimum amount of votes to arrest a player will be roughly the number of citizens / 2.

A handful of players will be chosen at random as the Jury for each trial and they will decide if the player is Guilty or Innocent. Guilty players are killed and removed from the game. Jury Verdicts are decided by simple majority.

During each day phase you will also be concurrently deciding the next player to arrest (keep an eye on those juries).

~~~~~~~~~~
In this game there are 4 special Citizen roles, chosen from the following:
Citizens:
Lawyer: Once per game can release a Defendant from Jail, by contacting the Governor via DM.
Gumshoe: Each night, can investigate a player, discovering their role.
Good Cop: Once per game, at night, can arrest a player to be put on trial the next day.
Vigilante: Each night, can execute a player.
Judge: Once per game, during a trial, can either release a player or condemn them to death.
In this game there are 4 Mobsters, chosen from the following:
The Mafia:
The Don: Can only be killed by being found Guilty at Trial. There will always be a Don in the game.
The Consigliere: Each night can investigate a player, discovering their role.
The Cleaner: Twice per game can prevent deceased player roles from being revealed to the City at daybreak. The Cleaner will still learn these roles.
The Button Man: Once per game, at night, can kill a player at night, in addition to the normal mob kill.
Mob Lawyer: Once per game can release a Defendant from Jail, by contacting the Governor via DM.
In this game there MAY OR MAY NOT be a Dirty Cop:
Solo Player:
Dirty Cop: Once per game, at night, can arrest a player to be put on trial the next day. Once per game, at night, can kill a player. If they make it to the end of the game without being discovered, they win. If discovered by the Consigliere, joins the Mob and wins/loses with them. If discovered by the Gumshoe, cleans up his act and becomes a Good Cop and wins/loses with the Citizens.
PIZZA PAISAN PERISHED (JUDGE ALSO SLAIN)
DOWNTOWN - Residents of our fair city are up in arms today as the recent string of mob-related slayings have hit too close to home. Benjamin Zine, colloquially known as the "Pizza Paisan", was killed today in a mafia-related shooting. Also dead was a Federal Judge.
Yesterday evening at Zine's fine dining establishment, "Pizza Paisan's Pizza Palace", the building was filled to capacity as the Pizza Paisan was due to unveil his newest creation: a bite-sized miniature pizza where all of the "toppings" are baked inside of a rolled up crust. Witnesses report that Ben Zine was in high spirits, knowing that this incredible invention could bring some joy to a city that has been so haunted as of late by these organized crime slayings.
Zine began his unveiling with a short speech in which he lamented the morose mood of the city recently and how he felt he was doing his civic duty by trying to raise the spirits of the town. "I have-a one-a rule, and its to contribute what I can. I make-a the pizza! Mamma mia!"
The Paisan began to list the possible ingredients one could order in one of his rolled pizzas, "You canna get anything! Gabagool! Proshoot! Sopresaht! Salame! Pineapple!" This would prove to be the beloved chef's last word.
An unnamed witness has told us that at this point, there was a commotion in the crowd, as an unidentified white male pulled out a pistol and shot a man, later identified as a Federal Judge involved in recent mafia-related trials, in the back of the head. But this local hero was not the only man to meet his maker on this fateful night, as another man pulled out a weapon to return fire at the assassin. Unfortunately, his return fire missed his actual target and fatally struck the Pizza Paisan.
Local Hero was killed by the Mafia. He was the Judge.
Benzine was killed by the Vigilante. He was a Citizen.
These are the suspects for jailing tonight. There are also two confirmed townies in this bunch who know each other. There is risk that we will jail the wrong person and one of the two (Dirty Cop and Vigilante) will be killed.
If that happens, the person we jail will be replace whoever is killed as one of the “trusted twosome”. As long as we have two people we know are good we’re all set. Don’t let us jail one of the two trusted people though or everything gets fucked up.
For now I’ll agree to Jail Tubby23
And I'm awake. Not sure why I would have three votes to be on trial especially including Zell in that who has suddenly changed their story about active members of the town most likely being innocent. @Zell 17 why the change of heart?
One thing I definitely agree with you guys on though is that Fire Queen is guilty
I understand that I just feel that Zell's logic has actually changed which seems suspicious.
It's obvious that Zell is communicating with other town members via DM. Which is interesting on two fronts a) it's against the rules of his game so is he doing it now that he's on the side of the Mafia to benefit himself and b) are those that are talking to him truly sure that they can trust him.
Since Zell's trial started there has been zero new information provided for the town to make a decision on and I feel that's a deliberate ploy from a mafia member slowing things down and drawing our eyes away from the goal.
I'll obviously take the protection for the night so that the Vigilante doesn't accidentally kill me while hunting for the mafia
Sigh. This is why you don't go grab a pizza on the way to bring the suspect back to the precinct. The grease will contaminate all the papers.
Voting FQ, and no pizza until after she's been booked!
Why five?
Consigliere - dead
Cleaner - dead
Donna - soon to be dead
Button man - alive but without a kill, since it would have been used on night 0 for their two kills
Only other explanation is that the vigilante, not the button man, killed someone at random on night 0 and it was effected by the cleaner. But it also seems odd that the mafia would have used the cleaner for one single, random kill at the start.
The game rules say there is only 4 of the 5 mafia roles.
So either there is a town lawyer playing a silly game or the whole time we have been led astray.
Ok then how can you be so confident with how you are steering us?
Because it’s just a numbers game? If we had killed FQ as expected, there would be 6 people left. At least two are confirmed town and know each other, and 1 mafia member. At that point the game is unwinnable for the mafia if we just jail someone ever night and wait for a night where the mafia doesn’t kill.
We can still basically do the same thing now even with FQ being freed but it requires to two known to come forward. Yes 100% one of them would die tonight but we would continue to have one “known” towns person that we never jail and we can keep jailing somebody each night until the last mafia member is found.
And if someone disputes the two “known” people who come forward (and they would just have to say “I’m known”, no role claiming needed) then we have narrowed the list of suspects tremendously.
Yeah it means that the vigilante took a completely random shot night 1 or that there is a townsperson lawyer game-throwing for the mafia. Neither is super comforting is it.
And I agree it's a numbers game but at this stage we have one confirmed role (FQ) and the partial confirmation that you're not the Vigilante given there was a vigilante kill while you waited for trial.
Everything else is up in the air and to date we've learnt sweet FA from any of the trials
What I can say is we can literally kill every single person not in Locals circle until we find the mafia. We don’t need to “learn” anything. Just kill every single citizen until we hit the last mafia member and the game ends. Including me! If the vigilante wants to take a shot at me tonight I’d be fine with it so long as they remember the strat in the end.
So my thoughts given I expect the towns prevailing sentiment to put me on trial will carry over to the Vigilante's kill which would be a poor move.
1 in 4 chance Vigilante: Jawneh, Canadaguy, Ants! & JS
Can't possibly be Vigilante, alignment unknown: Zell
Definitely Don: Fire Queen
Plain Citizen: Tubby
My gut feel is that Ants! is the Vigilante, Jawneh the unknown town power role/bad cop and CG the other citizen. Leaving to me JS as the mob lawyer.
The mob has planned it out to allow shortkut and Alu play the "loud game" while letting JS and FQ sit in the shadows. This is not unusual for FQ and JS was first game back so we all accepted it. It's pretty astute and probably would have worked if Cole's target so early wasn't Alu.
The more I have thought about it I think I just have Zell wrong and he is also a Citizen.
